The same thing used to happen in rape cases before they passed laws to stop defence lawyers from bringing up a raped womans sexual history NC. It's sick, but acceptable still.

Is immorality escalating?
by jworld ini got the convention update from my mom, who attended this past weekend.
sounds like the society made the claim that immorality is escalating at a faster clip.

I prayed for a Kitty today
by pedal power inme and my wife,a non jw,took her 3 year old country cat to see the vet in edinburgh, i left her at the vets with the cat and went to work, i gave her 20 pounds and told her to get a cab into town to meet me at work.
the vet removes the chicken bone from the cats throat,{the little bastard stole it ,when we were not looking} anyway she gets a bus with cat into town, cost only 1 pound, she does not get cab she keeps 19pounds.
typical, only the cat manages to wriggle out the basket,on princess street, terrified runs helter skelter accross 2, 4 lane highways, avoiding buses taxis, ect, my wife terrified screaming down the phone at me,to come and protect and save her beloved cat.f__k ,my whole world was collapsing before me, i prayed that kitty would live, my wife is sensitive, and she would have been inconsolable had the kitty died on her watch, so i ran out of work, drove through red lights, and prayed, that the little cat survived.

Poor kitty! I bet she was scared! I would have cried if my cat did that too. I have 4 of them and they are my babies. I was moving back to Ohio last year from Kentucky and I pulled my cats cage out of the car to adjust it and it came apart at the seams. Two of my cats were inside it at the time and I had to fight two scared and freaked out cats back into the cage while I tried to get it back together. What an ordeal. My heart was pummping and I was scared because I was next to a highway and my cats had never been outside before. Lucky for me I was able to get them back in the crate and the crate back together before anyone escaped.

My Trip to the Unitarian Universal Church
by NewChapter inso, pretty much i no longer care to believe in a god.
but, either because of my 20 years in a jw daze, or because humans just desire this, i miss the community.
so, i went to a unitarian church this morning.

I went to the UU church with NC a couple of times. Everyone was very welcoming to me. I enjoyed it and I'm an Atheist. I would feel just fine if I were to go there again. Even if they talk about religion it's more of a teaching about all types of beliefs, rather than a preaching of one belief and one only. They explain what people may believe and they leave it up to the listener to decide if they agree with it or not. Every view point is valued and so is every person. If I were to go there again I would be welcomed, but not love bombed. There is a difference and I could feel it when I walked in for services.

Hi, new to this forum. Figured I'd let everyone know about my story before I got involved.
by JonathanH inif you just want the juicy details where i leave, i'll make disclaimer where it begins, if you just want to know what happened with the elders and organization after i realized it wasn't true, i'll mark that seperately.
we didn't do jack shit in service, or in the congregation.
maybe this was how jehovah came about?

I read your story. The only thing I will comment on is your saving for college. I believe that if you went you would do very well. I'm in college myself right now and I got my GED in January 2010 after almost 20 years out of school. I passed the test on my first try, even though I'm not great at Math and I was worried that I would fail that section. My college career has been sucessful so far with a 3.55 GPA and joining the Honors program and taking Honors classes. I made the Dean's list in both the Fall and Spring semesters. I am joining Phi Thetta Kappa the Honors Society at my school after earning the last credit I needed last semester. It has been an amazing experiance for me. I am taking classes at my local community college and you could too. They take everyone as long as you can pay for classes and have a high school diploma or a GED. Just look into it and see if you could afford to take a class or two a semester. Just going to college has opened my mind up to many talents that I didn't know I had. I know it can do the same for anyone. I encourage you to look into it.

I used to drive a cab for over 5 years. It can be worth it if you have a tough skin and no violent streak. The best shift to work is the drunk shift ( when bars close).

My life is great. I'm in school and making good grades. I'm in the Honors Program and I'm about to join the Honors Society. I have carried above a 3.5 in both semesters that I've been in College and I just got pinned for earning 6 or more Honors credits this past year.
I've made friends at school and I have a guy I've been talking to for a while. The only thing that could make it better is to get my dream job and buy a house. That will come with time.

Atheist believe in aliens but not God?
by StopTheTears inif you are a professed atheist, i ask you the question: do you believe in aliens?
could not god be an alien?
how do you know that there is no alien life?

I'm an Atheist. I keep my mind open to all things because there is no proof one way or another. Until I see with my own eyes, one way or the other I will continue to believe that humans don't know all there is to the universe and there may be things out there that would shock us.

Hello Everyone! Heres my story!
by OneDayillBeFree ini'm new here, and although i have been a lurker for several months now, its nice to finally dive in and join you all.
i hope that i find some friends as thats what i'm really looking for, i've seen enough proof that theres real love outside of this religious prison that i've biult for myself over the years, but i would like to feel it firsthand.
it's been a little hard to post anything since it's not easy being around in websites like these when you're still in and theres other jw's around sticking their noses everywhere, but now that i've found the time, i would like to share a bit about my story.... this is an email i sent paul grundy, (creator of jwfacts.com) and it basically sums up the story of my life... so i thought it would be good if you all had a read as well.

I would suggest trying to contact any family you may have outside of the JW's. They may be in a better position to listen to you and give you advice.
I would say that a college education is extremely important. I myself am in school now at the age of 36. I know that without college it will be impossiable for me to find a job in the near future, and I would suggest you start thinking about what you want from life.
