See if your friend has a doggie crate and tell her to set it up in a quite room with no other people or dogs and cover the crate with a blanket and put the dog in the room. If the dog is scared it makes sense to give them what they are used to. Your friend doesn't have to lock the dog in the crate but having a small area that she can escape to will help calm her down. She probably wants to hide and is to scared to move. A little time and attention and the dog with calm down and be fine.

Help! Help!! Desperately need DOGGIE help!!! Help with a doggie!!!!
by ziddina ini hope this is the correct category..... since pets are kinda sorta like "family", anyway..... a friend of mine (who lives about 25 miles away, in the center of the city) recently lost her beloved six-year-old spayed female daschund doggie under very tragic circumstances.. her other dog, an eight-year-old neutered male daschund, has been inconsolable since her loss.
so my friend decided to adopt another small dog - a spayed female daschund - one that was rescued from a breeder..... this poor little dog has lived in a cage for her entire life!!!
all six years of her life - in what was, in effect, a doggie concentration camp.... she is not "socialized" in any way, shape or form.

I forgot to mention that I have had some contact with other family member of my family in the last 7 years. I always asked about these cousins but I have always been to very general things about their lives but never any real information. I've been out 14 years and the first 7 I stayed away and the second 7 years I've been more active in my family, only when they deem me worthy.

by Evidently Apostate inlately i have been thinking about saying something apostate to my elder father in law.
he is an uber witness and actually believed that god interveined and saved him when he had a heart attack and kept him alive, until he told me that and i asked him why jehovah allowed jws in nazi concentration camps to suffer horribly and die but he loved an alcoholic more than them.. i havent been to a kh in 6 months or in service in years.
i grew a beard and basicallyhe avoids talking to me.

I DA ed myself but it was before the change in announcements. I left in 1998 and I was announced as DA ed, not "noni1974 is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses" it was "noni1974 has disassociated herself" (big difference if you ask me, but whatever). I left with a two line letter stating my intention of not bing a JW ever again. My anouncement was " noni1974 has DA ed herself" or whatever the announcement was for a DA prior to 1999/whenever the change was made.
All I know is that by making the announcement my way, (prior to the change in announcement) to let my family and former congergation know it wasMY CHOICE to leave. There is not doubt that it was any issue or scriptual reason for me to be DF ed (IE I never broke the rules and have never had a JC in my life!). I decided to leave on my own and I wanted everyone to know that they could not contact me ever!! I just wanted to be free and not have any connection to the JW's ever again. 14 years later and I still have zero regrets.

They have been out for years. Not as long as me, but years still. I was kept out of the loop by my mother and her family for some reason. It's like a family decission to keep those of us who are not JW's apart by not telling us about each other. I'm hoping to reconnect in a real way with them. I feel like I'm not so alone anymore because I have real blood ties to the outside world.

I found 3 of my cousins who are not JW's on Facebook and I have friend requested them and two of them have accepted so far. They are my first cousins and along with me are the only ones in our family to be out of the JW's. I did not have conntact with them because I left long before they did and I had no contact with anyone in my family except my parents for over 7 years. I'm so happy!! I feel like I have a tiny bit of family back now. I do have to make an effort to get to know them again and I hope they want to be a part of my life.

The ones I know seem to be happy enough. I believe they are doing the best they can with what they know, like all of us are. My family in particular is very happy in the box they live in and I'm happy outside the box. I don't feel sorry for them. I think they made their choice and so have I and that is that.

I have 4 cats and we are a package deal. If a man wants regular access to the pussy he has to at least not be mean to the other 4 I have. I made a commitment to my cats when I brought them into my home and I take that seriously. It doesn't mean a man has to love cats it just means he can't ask me to get rid of them or hurt them. If a man wants to make a good impression on me he will accept the cats in my life and treat them with kindness.

Thanks everyone!! I would like to say to anyone who is thinking of going back to school to start by taking baby steps. Tiny little steps until you feel more sure of yourself and then go after what you want. Going back to school has really opened my world up in so many ways, from the learning I'm doing to meeting new people and making friends, my life has changed 100% for the better. Take an art class or anything that interests you. Just get out there and learn something new.
