  Why I remain one of Jehovah's Witnesses

  allow me to begin with a clarification: when i say i am one of jehovah's witnesses, i don't mean that i am an advocate of the watchtower society or a devotee of some of its more controversial false teachings.

  i mean that i am a christian, a disciple of jesus christ dedicated to jehovah god, and who remains in union with my brothers and sisters who make up the family of faith that globally refers to itself as jehovah's witnesses.

  some totally understand the distinction between the family of brothers and sisters and the corporate organization known as the watchtower society (wts).

  BJ you are either an advocate or not and it is ALL WRONG.

  How about you reimburse me for the thousands of dollars spent on therapy to sort the mind numb caused by the borg? If this borg had even a ounce of holy spirit it would not cause the sort of damage it does. Hypocrite.

  Young baptism a double standard with marriage?

  i remember tons of young ones getting counseled for being too young to date and for marriage.

  the elders said, "marriage is the 2nd biggest dedication of your life (baptism being 1st), at 20 you still don't know who you are or what you want.

  you can't possibly make a decision like that, that young!

  It's is amazing when you actually think about it with a logical brain!! I got babtized at 15 because my mates were - then hit 18 and the s**t started.

  During my later issues I complained to an young elder who reluctantly accepted the appointment because the elder body was desperate for fresh blood so he was still approachable! He did concede that it was a bizarre thing for young people to do - to make such a commitment and vow at such an age when you didn't know anything about life!! He went on to say that the example of Jesus getting baptized at 30 should be adopted because he was of an age to know.

  It's just so they can control the sheeple but it's disgraceful but it did make it easier to marry a 19 year old sister -lol which of course did not last. Tossers

  You could have your faith without supporting this morally corrupt organisation. I don't really care but don't come here to tell this site the in's and out's of the borg.

  There has been too much damage by your kind and your borg.

  That is a most interesting question! Living with regrets is certainly not healthy and acceptance with grace leads to peace and allowing love into your life without judgement leads to amazing relationships all round....

  HOWEVER - it has taken me 15 years to get to this place!!

  Lets face it - it a CULT that dominated our every thought and action, lead us up the garden path in an all encompassing fairy-tale / nightmare with hideous rules and consequences, filled our lives with judgment of others and gave us a superior attitude and then to finally figure out we were not special leaves a big hole full of every range of feeling and emotion and for some of us it takes a while to work through.

  Yep it was a waste of time but through that now so onwards and upwards eh?

  i have a pretty good intuition but i have to admit i am going back and forth on the jw tv may broadcast.

  i keep asking myself are they really in financial trouble (wishful thinking) or are they just grabbing for more money?.

  i always appreciate reading everyone's thoughts and ideas on here.. let me know what you think.

  as long as shunning continues donations will be slow

  one of the reasons the watchtower is having problems with donations is because they have refuse to let go of wholesale across the board shunning.

  the average publisher is sick of it and jehovah is withholding his full blessing.

  when you do not show love to fellow humans you run the risk of not being able to show love which i'm turn has a direct relationship to your joy in turn if your not happy your not motivated to donate lots of money to and arrangement you perceive as unloving all you bethel lurkers convey this message to bro letters and rest of gb stop trying to convince fair minded people to support unloving shunning.

  In the borgs mind the only disaffected ones are those that do not truly believe...

  There will still be so many stupid sheeple that will still leave their life savings or their insurance to the corrupt org. Yes I agree that many children of dubs do not carry on the stupidity which is intelligent, when you kick someone often enough they become wary.

  Shunning / disfellowshipping is amoral. I'm sure somewhere along the line of this long life we have in front of us the borg will self disintegrate and I hope I'm here to see it happen.

  My Son is 21 Today!

  well what a great day!

  to see my son reach 21 and be a well rounded man free of guilt and fear by not being raised in a cult (well from 5 yrs on) is amazing.

  to able to ring your child and wish him happy birthday and congratulate him is a fantastic thing for any parent.

  To able to ring your child and wish him happy birthday and congratulate him is a fantastic thing for any parent. To be able to remember your child's day of birth with the joy and celebration it deserves is really very nice!!

  It's so cruel that some cult would tell you that you shouldn't celebrate that amazing day. Mind blowing in fact - but it is totally ok to go to as many funerals as you can, socialise and talk about that persons life and rewards to come.

  My son said - hey Dad what did you get up to on your 21st? I seriously could not remember if there any note of it in my mind. It was just another day, no big deal really.

  I guess the reason of my post is the freedom of now not having some organisations rules dominating our world is that we can literally just enjoy every day for what it is and celebrate this fantastic thing called life with no regrets. Cheers

  i want to marry only in the lord but as the balance of brothers and sisters are not even and i am getting older as time goes by, im kinda a little panicky now.
