Hey Crazyguy. This has been a crazy post/thread. Interestingly I have moved on from my original position, yes I thought it was funny and to take the mickey on this borg was ok but after reading the numerous comments I can see there are much more healthier options.

Stumpy, you bought tears to my eyes when reading your last post. Wow, its life changing for you and your wife but please don't feel guilty though but I understand the very strong emotions involved and it literally took me years to reconcile my thoughts. I still have a spiritual belief though not focused on a religion per say ( more universal energy for me ) and you will work through this. Like I said my thoughts are with you over the coming months. Don't be embarrassed or awkward, I'm sure you will come up with plausible reason if you do step down, shoot sorry - don't mean to know about your world but you will figure it and you and your wife sound strong enough to sort it.

Welcome Stumpy! Yes that was a great post. I wish the rest of my family would see the 'light' but they remain fixed.
Silly but unlike you they don't seem to question anything.
I just checked my status and realised I only joined 11 days ago. Wow, it feels like a lot longer because of a new found freedom of mind and a release of a lot of emotion I did not realise I was carrying.
I have not set foot in KH for 18 years, have not believed either but I guess reading stories about peoples lives has added peace.

i know of the local congregation's issues, per an elder i know quite well.
he has said that nearly everyone in the congregation is suffering emotionally and mentally.
he said he has never seen so many witnesses with so many problems.
A while ago having a discussion about the dubs and all the damage it has done with my uber elder brother, he said well we will have to agree to disagree and said if it makes me happy then what is wrong with that. How come you are so stressed all the time then? I replied.
There really isn't any way to get through if they are so brainwashed. I know of many that were on anti-depressants but were not able to admit it openly but they are still able to pretend to be happy
i believe that since it is not politically correct to spank your child, the watchtower doesn't push parents anymore in that direction.. years ago, elders would sit a parent down and tell them that they needed to discipline their kids and if needed, give them a spanking, since the bible says, they won't die if you give them a beating.. what is the watchtower's view on this subject now?.
