That is why I started a goatee for "No-shave November" (would be a beard, but my sideburns don't grow) and I will continue to keep the goatee after November. I look forward to the "partial distinctions" that will be made towards me. I will wear the goatee as a badge of honor and maybe will help some other to think for themselves. -

Does the W.T have financial problems are are they just rebranding?
by The Rebel init is evident that the w.t has recently re-branded itself, and has become fairly modern in its marketing techniques.
so the organisation is in that respect forward thinking, and the former way of doing things has past.. .
but this rebranding has been done by marketing experts, who maybe realise progress is progress, and that with modernisation many bethelites " even as free volunteers" are possibly no longer required.

Money is property, but it's not liquid. They can't do anything with it if it's tied up in real estate. They can't rent it out like other businesses might as they'd be held responsible by the R&F for whatever those businesses did. So, yes, selling high-value property is dumb in a business model, but makes sense if you need to free up cash.
I also think they are looking to isolate bethel workers even more. I've heard many stories of the trouble that those in the big cities would get in to. By moving to a more remote location, they will lower the number of incidences.

Instagram witnessing
by Thursday insorry if this has been covered, but are they now counting time by linking to their website on instagram accounts of jws?.
i keep a casual stalk on my niece and nephew on insta, and have found links to all their local jw youth insta accounts, even their parents have accounts, it seems quite acceptable.
99% of them are private but every single one has a link to the website in their bio and a thing saying "jw" and often a scripture or god reference.

You can count video showings, sending links to people, text messages, etc. Maybe they count likes by non-JWs as RVs. Maybe they count the time it took to post and fudge a bit to account for the time that it took to post on multiple sites? -

it occurs to me they exercise authority over the body in four main ways: appearance, private practice, public performance, and location.

If anyone ever reads this from my old congregation, it'll give me away... I had my ringtone set to "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" and it went off once during the meeting. I turned 50 shades of red. I didn't live that one down for a while. -

A question about fading....
by Tornintwo ini understand that many on this forum are undertaking a slow fade, over months, years even.. can i ask what is the benefit of that instead of a fast fade?.
as i understand it, the elders only have to deal judicially with people who are still active witnesses, known in the community as witnesses, having contact and influence with witnesses etc.
so surely the sooner you stop attending meetings the better.

There are one or two elders in my old congregation that I would refer to as bulldogs, one for sure. If he were to catch wind that I might no longer agree with WT teachings, he may not let it go. So I put on a show. I'm also building up "worldly" friends and would like to keep 1 or 2 of the friends in the congregation, at least until they decide to shun me. I can't make friends at work (work at home), so it takes quite a bit of effort to find acquaintances. -
