I hope that this news makes it out of India and to the R&F. I'd like to see how it is explained away. How can they justify not doing all they can to spread the word when the "end is soon"?

No more printing of WT and Awake in my country.. Shit just got real

a letter was just read in out kh stating that all printing of wt and awake is ceased for the coming year and we will just place tracts on fs, countries which were cared by our branch will be cared by other countries...along with this they read the new fs form and stuff about reporting links of videos wtf..lol.
i can't tell which country perhaps that will give away a lot, any one with a similar information.

Is the Borg winding down printing altogether?

a local brother said he asked for a copy of the new organisation book for publishers.
the elder told the brother to print it out if he wanted a physical copy.

I think they are transitioning away from being seen as a "publishing company". Apostates have beat that idea to death. If they no longer print anything, then they can get rid of that moniker. I think they know that print media is dead/dying and a HUGE drain on resources. I definitely see them stopping almost all printing at some point. -

" (1 pet 2:17) there may be a proper time and place for some actions that would be inappropriate at a christian meeting.
(eccl 3:1) for instance, suppose someone sought to have all in a group link arms or hold hands during prayer.

I have no issue with your post about holding hands with non-family members, but they are going a bit far to say that married couples should hold hands discreetly. First, how would you not hold hands discreetly? Maybe you would hold them high up in the air like you just crossed a finish line or won a medal?
They are also taking it a bit far to say that embracing during a prayer is wrong. Why shouldn't I be close to my spouse during a prayer to my Father? He's the creator of marriage right?

IMHO, this is a long time overdue. There was/is very little interest in the mags. Only my elderly mother looked forward to the next issues. The magazines were stacked high in closets and basements all over the world. The importance of the WT's "flagship" magazines was only in the minds of the FDS & Co. Any business minded person could tell it was a tremendous waste of resources in the modern world.

I would agree with you save one thing. This is in India. They are still a developing nation. While I'm sure many have cellphones and even smart phones, there are undoubtedly many in rural areas that have no access to such things. The printed word would surely help those. It really shows the attitude of the WT to ignore such "lowly ones".

Why would they turn away good money coming into their economy?
The majority are Hindu. They see Christianity as invasive and maybe divisive. They're probably ok with it growing organically, but don't want outside influence causing an abnormal growth. They may also be aware of the cult tactics and are looking to protect their citizens. Also, other than building, what would the WT actually contribute to the economy? Members are sending their money back to the org so it would end up as a net loss.

What I would like to see soon!
by John Aquila ini would like to see one or better two members of the governing body get disfellowshipped and they both go off to write books like ray franz exposing the cult to all the sexual scandals, the hidden agendas with the stock market investments, the lawsuits, the laying of long time bethel workers, hidden sins by the higher ups and all the other nasty skeletons in the watchtower closet..
what would be different today compared to rays time is that we now live in a social media world..
they would be invited to talk in the oprah winfrey show, ellen degeneres show, the view, dateline.

I'm not suggesting he be paid for defection, but a gift would be helpful. They receive gifts now, what's the difference. It'd be best to not set it up until after the GB member was ousted otherwise it would be seen as a bribe or payment for leaving. Of course the org would spin it, but if it's setup as the Christian/humane thing to do I think the J-dubs wouldn't have anything to say about it. -

Seriously? People want to give money to GB members?
Yes. In the same way that people helped Ray Franz when he left. If the GB member is leaving due to the same crisis of conscience and is basically kicked to the curb, why shouldn't we be supportive. He was just as blinded as we were while still in. The fact that he woke-up and took a stand would merit at least some support. I don't think he should be given a golden parachute, but something to cushion the fall would be appropriate.
