  The Democratic controlled US congress would like to make things more fair though by adding an $0.85 per gallon federal tax.<<
  
  I would feel better about paying that portion (which presumably would remain in the US) than the first $4.00 which is gone forever.

  this evening i was walking into the local fourth of july celebration grounds and had to pass through the security point where they check everyones' bag to make sure no one brings in any potentially explosive coca-cola, chips, hot dogs or other dangerous outside food.. one guy looked in my back pack while another guy told me that no back packs are allowed inside.

  i pointed to the woman directly in front of me who passed through with a hugh purse that was literally bigger than my back pack and asked why she was allowed in.

  the guy said that purses are allowed, but not back packs.. "well, hell, this isn't a back pack!

  I'd love to know what part of TX you live in.
  
  Our local Sheriff started doing something similar in Victoria, TX after the Twin Tower attack. Which brings to mind who would care if something happened there or even hear about it? Get over it little places! Nothing important will EVER happen there!

  A customer told me he has a friend whose truck runs on Mazola (less than a dollar a gallon when he cannot get sufficient used oil from restaurants).<<
  
  Wonder what Supermarket he goes to? I pay $5.00 per freaking QUART at my super thanks to the dumb asses who think food should be converted into ethanol.

  Traveling Overseers (Cars, benefits, etc.)

  our do was over for dinner last night and he said that the wts is gonna stop leasing cars to the do and cos and is gonna use an international company to supply cars to all traveling overseers.

  i wonder if they'll give them mercedes now.. .

  also he was complaining about how they only get $50 monthly.

  I have always found it interesting that the voting (Witnesses voting?) for expense resolutions was done by a show of hands, openly and in front of all, while everything else is done in private (donations, etc)

  we were out doing some field work when i mentioned that i had never heard of "friends" having to dress up just to visit other "friends" who were probably still wearing their robe.

  i suggested that it would make me feel uncomfortable and that i might even feel somewhat intimidated.

  i would like to encourage all of you to put your old wts to good use by creating an even more hostile environment for the wtbs.

  when you dine in a restaurant out-of-town or one that you will probably not be returnng to, rather than leaving a tip just leave a wt or awake with a note that jehovah's wisdom is worth much more than a tip.

  i promise that the server will spread the word about "those damn jws" .

  Lawyers at Bethel

  i heard that bethel pays for brothers' undergrad and law school expenses if they serve as lawyers, is that true?

  also, just to see the hypocrisy, would they accept someone who went to harvard law even if they weren't a regular pioneer?

  According to a law Prof of mine, Dubz tapped for duty at Bethel generally get free tuition at Harvard Law. According to him it is because the institution "has a sense of humor" as he put it dryly (retired Navy JAG, Captain, and Anapolis Professor) Most do not make it out of first year.

  I guess I'm thinking on a more global scale than many of you.
  
  Keeping people from associating with the WTBS is easier than weaning them off it over the course of several years; this is an easy and extremely effective way to spread the new about how "wacky" the Dubz really are.
  
  Potentially saving someone from the grasp of a cult is an excellent tradeoff for a few bucks in tips. Plus all their friends get the word as well.

  That is why I do it under the guise of being a Witness silly! These people are the ones that Witnesses troll for, by informing them, I am protecting them by informing them and at the same time dragging the Dubz through the mud. How many friends do you think they tell whwn someone leaves an Awake and what are the chances they will ever seriously consider a study after that?
  
  Think outside the box!
  
  (No loss because I still get 35 Awakes a month)
