  KH Builds are a statistical sham!

  well my mother-in-law is spending the night and blabbing about their kh build.

  since i'm drinking whiskey (canadian if you must know), i feel like going on a rant.

  i'm sick of kh builds.

  What the witnesses do is not being done by other religions and most of the time it is enjoyable being with your friends instead of knocking on doors

  Crap When I was living in Victoria, TX. a young man with a wife and two small children was killed dead when he fell off the roof of the church he was helping build for his congregation. It is fairly common for the small sects to do their own construction, often with disastrous results. (Waco?) This was a Church of Christ off shoot sect The unfinished building was demolished and the property sold. The civil suit ended with a judgement against the church. Because it was self-insured (sound familiar?) there was no payment because there were no assets other than the (sold) property.

  No workers' comp insurance because you volunteered right?

  Does the WTBS guarantee to pay any medical bills/lost wages/therapy/medications/hospital time that may result from dabbling in the world's most dangerous profession?

  Will they support you family for life if the weekend warrior on the roof the previous week forgot to tie in the roof framing and you are crippled as a result?

  That should be enough for any responsible person to run for the hills rather than work on a KH build.

  you will find remarks of several individuals and the reasons they offer, ranging from deterrence to vandalism, to saving on air conditioning bills, etc.

  Windows cost more money than regular exterior treatment.

  Windows require more skill from the framer/block layer

  Windows require blinds or other covering after they are installed.

  Nothing more than a cost consideration

  When was use of cross in illustrations abandoned?

  in another thread someone quoted a recent wt source that said the use of the cross in illustrations was abandoned in 1936. i came across this booklet "what is truth?

  ", written by rutherford in 1932. it shows christ on a stake on page 56:.

  i attended my mother's memorial at the kingdom hall saturday afternoon.

  even with the jw sermon tagged on, my cousin did a lovely service for her.

  there were many jws and non-jws in attendence.

  in the course of the article they give a little history of the sect but the juicy parts that would interest most of us here in "apostate land" are in the second half of the article.

  This load of crap was the last "real" meeting for me and if you don't believe it just check my join date here and the date of the article.

  The PO gave this study and described it with such disgust that he looked like a Jew with a BLT sandwich. This is the same turd with FOUR daughters all DF'ed and a wife dying of cancer that they are not able to visit or even speak with.

  I remember "studying" the WT beforehand and then watching in disbelief as the sheep sat there in slack-jawed interest

  i will try to make a long story short.

  me and my wife (faithful jw) had a problem with an evil pioneer sister elder's wife in our former hall.

  through the course of trying to work it out we decided we would be better off in another hall.

  I've always found it interesting that the R&F is required to be forgiving even without an apology, but for the Society to forgive there must be "heart-felt repentance".

  Any question about who is supposed to be humble here?

  BUSH MAKES ME SICK

  i just called my bank to change my debit card to an atm card.

  not wanting my account cleaned out in case the debit gets lost or stolen.

  i was on the phone 40 minutes they wanted my passport no, my green card no, wanted to know where i conduct my business, what date i opened up the account.

  Tax and spend Dems and Cut and run Dems

  Just checking, but you DO understand that the five largest deficits in US history have all happened with a republican as president? That would be a president named BUSH by the way. Did you even know that the "war" in Iraq is still carried off the books and has not been counted in the latest $500B deficit?

  As far as spending goes, Republicans have no peers. In addition, rather than spending money on things that might actually HELP our nation become a better place to live it gets spent on no-bid contracts to military suppliers and pay-offs to foreign governments like the new Iraq.

  I was a rabid anti-Dem for many years, but the Republican Party is not the same one I supported even as recently as Bush 1's early days.

  All smoke and mirrors and trite names that carry no significance.

  Anyone who ever votes for another Republican is brain damaged.

  As far as your experience with "Gnomeland Security" goes, I suggest you get used to being outraged. Fortunately the youngest amongst us are rapidly becoming acclimated. Remember when you folks didn't protest locker searches in school, metal detectors at the door, full-time police presence in Elementary schools etc?

  Remember when you didn't call your Congressman when Homeland Security distributed brochures in schools and posted bill-boards around them urging the yoots to call and report "suspicious activity" like someone taking a foto? The next generation of rules will be even worse because kids are immersed in the propoganda of "us VS. them". All I can say is that I'm soooo happy to have two passports so I can bail.
