The brothers and sisters here localy are doing this because they were told to by him to do this.
If that's the case, it's sad. He was preying on their trust.
Skyman, I hope your mom's okay.

I have a friend, an American cancer doc, who shares research with this and other Mexican clinics. He's a brilliant and dedicated doc, disillusioned with much of the U.S. health care system, trying to reach out and help those who are suffering and often haven't gotten adequate or advanced medical care here in the USA. The facility did help and even cured a lot of patients who were left for dead in the U.S., sometimes even because of lack of funds or insurance coverage.
Some of the methods and theories do seem extreme. I think, though, the majority of patients are seeking alternative and holistic treatments, rather than chemical treatments and radical surgeries offered at many U.S. cancer centers. Also, sadly, many turn to facilities like this as a last resort, when it's already too late anyway, but they're seeking a miracle.
I never heard that about the JWs. The hospital did do blood transfusions.
IP, it was the Santa Monica Health Institute. There are many of these clinics in the Tijunana area.

argh, i'm a little on the frustrated side right now, so i'm looking for some help.. i'm usually quite good at getting lots of sleep, i'm usually in bed at a decent hour in the night and can usually get between 7 and 9 hours of sleep a night (more on the weekends, of course), but for the last week or so, i've been having some trouble sleeping.
a scattered night of sleeplessness can be expected from time to time, but it's been about 10 days now, that's a little excessive.
i do all of my usual things during the day - classes, homework, chores, cooking, cleaning, errands - and i never nap during the day, i avoid all forms of caffeine after 5pm, and i always go to bed feeling like it's time for me to go to sleep, i'm usually tired at bedtime, but lately, it's been taking me forever to get to sleep.
I agree with the others, check with your doctor first. If everything's okay, try putting a little cotton pouch of dried lavender flowers in your pillow case. Lavender scent is deeply relaxing and soothing, very good for inducing sleep. As you relax, repeat this:
"Purple flowers work your charm,
Remove me from all earthly harm.
A heavy weight upon mine eyes.
Deep sleep until dawn reaches the skies."
Dried lavendar flowers can also be added to a warm bath, or try burning a lavender scented candle in the room about a half hour before you want to sleep.

ive been reading this forum for a long time, but this new situation has come up and now it looks like i need your help.
i thought i dodged a bullet.
my wife and i were both jws, and we both left it together.
You also both need to consider the responsibilities of being a single parent, since that's what you will be when each of you have custody of the children.
There are some very real challenges to this role, especially if tensions between the two of you continue. While many of us are successful single parents, I think we can attest to the tremendous amount of responsibility and selflessness it involves. Please think about it carefully and, as adults, do the right thing for your children.
I wish you well.

i am a newbie here- but have been reading a lot of the ex jw boards and websites for a while as a newly minted evil apostate :).
so i remember hearing -here or somewhere else, i can't remember, that tonight at the "theocratic ministry school" or "kingdom ministry school" (???
aah- i can't even remember if that is the name - i haven't gone to a meeting in ~ 4 years or so) they are going over some new information on the blood issue.
I don't get why these things are addressed only to "Brothers".

It seems your motive is to simply use the pulling power of JWD to push your own site. Or have I got it wrong?
I believe you've got it right Ozzie.
