This is all good advice. It seems everyone has the same thought in mind: Confess and I suppose you are all right. Now do I wait till it all blows up in my face that way I will have no choice to confess or find some sort of power and strength deep inside this fragile little girl in me and just come right out. Confessing to your parents you are not going to the meetings...sheesh! Its like trying to tell your family you are gay or something! Oh, the things us ex-dubs have to go through!

Its been 7 months now and I know it will all blow up in my face soon. Although my folks go to a different congregation they share the same as hall with the elders in my congregation. Its amazing they haven't bumped into one another yet but when they do...I have a feeling all hell will break lose. WHAT DO I DO? Just come right out and tell my family I am not attending meetings anymore? Can I be D'F for that or do I just have to do something outright bad? Should I just be honest and hope for the best (I rather my folks simply think I am inactive; I mean at least I can then stop lying but what if they stop talking to me altogether?) PLEASE HELP!

Why is the Watchtower Society so cruel to teens?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inmy mom just informed me that a 17 year old has been disfellowshipped at her hall.at least 7 others have been kicked out within the last 5 years.the publisher count is only 56 .why do they let the teens get baptized so young?
i was 14 and only got baptized because of pressure and the end was coming.if you weren't baptized you would be destroyed.. why don't they wait until everyone is at leat 21?
all these teens haven't come back and you won't ever see them unless they return.i haven't seen my cousin in over 2 years.no one went to his wedding, isn't invited to any family functions and is to be avoided at all costs.. the watchtower society should be ashamed that they act that way and the parents let them get away with it..

I remember being tattled on because I was seen walking into the library. That jerk elder would say, "What need is there to go to the library, when we have Jehovah's provisions to read?"
Same here! I was an avid bookworm growing up (something most parents would kill for) Well not mine! My parents hated to see me read. My dad would take me to the library every saturday (just to shut me up) and I would practically get misty-eyed just being in there. It was my sanctuary. (Oh, and he'd be outside preparing his WT of course)
I'd come out with at least 10 books at a time and finish them in 2 days. My mother would yell so mcuh: "Why are you reading those worldy books! Jah provides so much spiritual food to keep us busy (and this is addressed to a 12 year old)
It would get so bad at times that I would read under my sheets at night with a flashlight on cause if my mom knew my light was still on she would GASP! know i was reading. da da duuuuuummmm

"Everyone Has Aids"
by ColdRedRain inwhen i first exited the troof, that was the first thing i was told by every jw was that worldly girls all carry aids and i should watch out for them.
it's caused a lot of exiting youth to literally piss their pants after having sex, even with condoms.
anyways, have you heard of the same mind tricks being played too?

"When I first read this thread title I thought maybe you were talking about this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggtaVqCnGRw" Funny video. My bf showed it to me once cause I had that same thought in mind.

The dark side to their new personality
by JH inthe bible tells us to transform our personality so that we become better people and pleasant.
so, as jw, we were all supposed to do that.. it's funny, but most jw's i know, also transformed their personality into something more hateful.. maybe they stopped doing bad things that were apparent, but they also started doing hateful things that they didn't do before such as shun people or ignore their own brothers and sisters who don't see exactly eye to eye with the org.
as well as divide families, which they didn't do before becoming jw's.. i rather their old personality, before they became jw's.. .

It all reminds me of that movie Disturbing Behavior with Katie Holmes where the kids of the small town are turned into practically robots to be "better kids" and in turn only become more and more psycho and weird.

What's the deal with beards????
by bittersweet inok, so my brother in law, a former elder, decided to grow a beard a while ago.
he initially grew it because he had a small rash he was trying to cover up, but that has since gone, and he has kept the beard.
he kept the beard because it made such a fuss that he decided if he shaved it off it would be like giving in to the brothers.

Possable "New Light"?
by 2112 inwith all the "buzz" around the up-comming october anouncment, i have a question.
i have thought about this for a long time, is it possable that they would tell all those married to non-witnesses to divorce their mates?
it could be for the reason of "unevenly yoked", and/or keeping spritually clean.
