  Tips on going to Jamaica????

  if all goes as planned, two female friends and i will be heading for ocho rios, jamaica, for 7 days come march.

  it's not near kingston, where there is supposed to be lots of crime and gangbangers.

  we will be staying at "rooms on the beach" hotel.

  There was an article last month in Cosmo about how us women should prepare when travleling abroad. Some of the points were:

  -Know the customs. Is it frowned upon for women there to wear short skirts, wear pants, jewelry? If so then one should respect this. (But this would be primarily in places like India etc.)

  -Always stick togethor.

  -Never make it obvious that you are a tourist. (But this may be kind of hard sometimes)

  -Never take aboard suspicious packages that someone may have given you. (Aint nothing worse than to be held up in an oversees jail where the U.S Embassy keeps putting you on hold.

  Now from what I've heard about Jamaica-avoid getting your hair braided down there (which is quite the "touristy" thing to do for most girls. They will charge you outrageous prices (Last I heard it was like $5 per braid) You're better off getting braids done here in the states if thats absoloutely what you want to do.

  Dinner with College Professor

  i went to the circuit assembly last weekend.

  we went up friday, so we could have some time to chill before the assembly saturday and sunday.

  our "christian convoy" happened to include a very nice family that is new to our congregation.

  On this Forum my Light is getting Dimmer

  i don't know if it is a good or bad thing but my view of jws has got dimmer since i joined jwd.

  the reason i'm not sure is because i don't dislike the jws per se as i've met some good people but at the same time i feel more suspicious of these people's drive and motive - i'm talking about the ones i know personally.

  i find that disconserting and uncomfortable.

  serendipity: WOW! How old is your daughter!? She sounds like quite the little Einstein. Interesting how she makes such statements and yet will still prod you when you guys miss a meeting. Quite perculiar of her aint it? Perhaps she's just so used to going I guess

  atypical: I hope this isn't prodding too much but what kind of effect does this have on one's marriage? I know a lot of people on here have mates that are still on the "other side" of reality and I always wonder what it would be like to be married to someone whose views are so much different from mine esp. a fanatical witness kind of mate. Has it put a strain on the marriage at all? Inquiring minds would like to know!

  fsmonster: LOL! That would of been a funny way to start the talk but I don't think the more stiffer ones in the audience would think it was very funny.

  Par.8: " Special Needs Room Request forms are available only for publishers whose accomadation needs cannot be cared for by family memebers or by their congregation. The Congregation Service Commitee should consider the publisher's qualifications, using the guidelines on the form as well as the letter dated December 14, 2005, addresses to all bodies of elders. This provision is only for publishers in good standing, along with their well-behaved children."

  Hey! Anyone heard about this? Ha! And notice the qualifications for such a donation from the Society: a publisher in good standing (that's right-better be pushing in at least the required 10 hours per month sister! and well behaved children. I feel sorry for anyone whose got a litter of brats running around. No free hotel for you!

  My conversation with an elder

  well this happened to me a few weeks ago, but i chose to post it later because i'm paranoid.

  anyway, i was riding in field service with an elder and our conversation turned to apostasy.

  well, he turned it to apostasy because he usually dominates 99% of the conversations we have.but i digress, this is how our conversation went.

  I dunno if this supports what you're saying but I notice there is this one elder in my hall who aint older than what? 25. I mean he's super young. Hell, I'm good friends with his sister!

  How qualified is a 25 year old to delegate over a congregation of already twisted souls?

  Not to mention he used to always ask me out on dates last year (but now he's married thank god) but he still looks at me all weird when were around each other. YUCK!
