Good for you jonesy! Sounds like fun. I've always wanted to learn to knit. The chunky sweaters are so 2006.

What did I just do?
by mrsjones5 inlast sunday after the sermon i happen to see a lady who was knitting.
i went to say hi and comment on her choice of yarn and how well she was coming in her knitting (last year she and i and a few other ladies in my church went on a women's retreat whereupon she took up knitting.
) as we were talking i mentioned something about the shawl ministry (http://www.shawlministry.com/) and if she had heard about it.

What is the Minimum age for Disfellowshipping ?
by Clam ini read a thread posted by gill which gives an account of an 8 year old being baptised.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/107441/1.ashx.
does anyone know what the society considers to be the minimum age at which a witness can be disfellowshipped?

if they're old enough to do wrong they're old enough to do right ".
I hear this crap all the time. But shouldn't it be: "If you aint old enough to say No then you aint old enough to say Yes"
A 6 year old has no idea what they are saying Yes to when wanting to get baptized. It ridiculous.

Did anyone hear the expression- If it was`nt for Jehovah I wouldnt stick it
by jambon1 inwhere i live it`s common to hear the brothers/sisters say 'if it wasnt for jehovah i wouldnt be here' - refering to the fact that they are fed up, sick of everyone and they are only staying in the truth for jehovah.
it is normally uttered after a fight in the cong or when someone has done something bad/brought bad publicity etc.
naturally, it is said with a dgree of head shaking.. does this not contradict the idea of a worldwide, supportive & loving brotherhood exsisting among jw's?.

Oh, yeah the Jehovah thing; right...sorry.
Sure, Its said all the time. The freeloader pioneer sister (ya'll do know who the freeloader pioneer sister is by now right?) Anyways she uses that expression anytime even when the littlest thing goes wrong:
"If it wasn't for Jehovah my so and so in New Orleans would of never made it."
"If it wasn't for Jehovah I would of never made it to the JCPenney doorbusters sale this morning."
"If it wasn't for Jehovah"...ah hell ya'll know what I'm talkin 'bout!

rebel8 Check out the "Men, Women, and God" book. Though satisfying my curiosity is not worth $49.99 to me, it definitely piqued my interest. I am wondering if the no oral sex rule originated way back then...... Thats the first one I checked out...its tempting but sheesh! $49.99? Are ya outta your mind!

I'm a donor but I wish I wasn't. Only reason I am is because its half off on the fee for getting my license.
But I do want to change it. I mean what if I get into a car accident and at that very same moment Bush needs a few organs for himself?
I may still be alive but they may just take my stuff anyways just to save him.
freaky!
