It proves that "tall tales" have existed for a very long time. Maybe Jesus really existed; maybe not. But his greatness has definitely been exaggerated, just like that of Paul Bunyan and Johnny Appleseed in America.

What were Jesus's 'Miracles' supposed to prove?
by nicolaou inthe healings, feeding the five thousand, walking on water, resurrecting the dead.
none of it happened of course but let's take the bible literally and say that it did.. so?.
didn't magic practicing priests perform 'miracles' in a contest with aaron?

I guess I do have one big question for everyone that I will put there ...
What part of the country is the best part to stay for a first timer? Mind you ... I am not into touristy stuff or hotels. I would prefer to rent a place off of airbnb. I found one place I really like. It's close to Tahuna beach. I want to explore both islands while I'm there, so I was thinking right in the middle of the two islands would be great, but having never been there ... not sure.

I'm wondering if there are any here that are from New Zealand or currently live there. I'm going to be staying there for a month in July 2017 ... location to be determined. I would love to have someone I can ask questions while I am in the planning stages. Best area to stay, etc. I will be a solo traveler for two weeks and then more will join me, so one of the questions I have is whether are any areas that solo travelers should avoid. If you familiar with NZ and wouldn't mind me pm'ing you questions periodically, please let me know!
Thank you for your help!

Question about an elder and if I am crazy
by life is to short inok so i have a question.
i was a very, very true believer until i saw the child molesters in my hall and how that whole thing was handled.. my husband is older than i am and had been an elder for 12 when we married.
so fast forward to 06, we are in a hall where i thought all the elders were ok at the worst and great at the best.

My question is am I crazy or is this just truly nuts and insane.
I'm gonna go with "this is just truly nuts and insane." He sounds dangerous.
Also, KUDOS to you for taking a stand on this issue, and trying to protect kids in the congregation. If everyone would stand up to the Watchtower leadership, protecting child molesters would never be allowed within the ranks. It will take a larger majority to take a stand and change things, but it always starts with one, and this time you're it. You really should be proud.
"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." - Dr. Seuss
Also, I don't know the circumstances with your husband or how he feels, but I think its time for you two to make a clean break (okay ... a break from JWs is never exactly clean). Right now, they are helping to dictate your emotional state and that is a lot of power to give to them. We have all been there and allowed them to do it. I'd say it's time to take your power back.
Dr. Seuss was one smart guy: "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own, and you know what you know. And you are the girl who'll decide where to go."

Go to wol.jw.org and do a search for Andre. He is one popular guy! It is a name that the Borg has used so much in their examples ... err ... "true life experiences", that it has become a joke!

Did Andre make it into the bunker?
I don't think so. I think he was the one that introduced Kevin to gambling, smoking, drinking too much, and taking drugs. They both have quite the history!
Have you ever noticed how the examples in their literature never have just one vice? They usually have all of them!
And the way they word the forbidden acts: no this, no that, and no drinking ... too much.
