  I saw the Challenger Space Shuttle blow up on live TV when I was 10 years old.

  I saw the twin towers go down in NYC live in TV when I was in my early 20s.

  I saw the first non-white person become president of the United States in my early 30s.

  and all of this by the time i was 14. i was the youngest person in my pioneer school.

  was anybody else in the trenches (to this degree) at such a young age?.

  i look back on it now and marvel at how isolated i was.

  I look back on it now and marvel at how isolated I was. Since I didn't attend school and wasn't old enough to have a job, I didn't have ANY contact with outside people (except out if service ... if they would answer the door.). No wonder I was so brainwashed! I had nothing in my life to juxtapose against my JW life. Nothing that would cause me to question my reality. It all seemed so normal to me.

  Is it still common for young teens to be homeschooled and pioneer?

  a little girl sat on the edge of a dock in canada, and watched a sea lion who popped his head out of the water to take a look at the tourists.

  seconds later, the sea lion pulled her into the water.

  I just saw this on ABC World News. They showed video taken before she sat down. They (adults and kids) had been teasing the seal with food. If a little girl sits down within reach after this happening, of course the seal is going to jump for her. It was just an animal doing its animal thing.

  if you had to choose to belong to 1 religion, i was curious as to what any on the forum would pick.. i realize most here are likely atheist (i would have to say i'm agnostic), but if any would like to share their opinion, and maybe why?.

  I was forced at gunpoint to choose a religion, I guess I would go with Buddhism. I find it mildly interesting, and the least harmful of all religions out there.

  Nice to meet you! I was also "born-in", baptized at a very young age, and pioneered. I stopped attending meetings about 15 years ago, but I just officially disassociated last year. It has brought me great closure.

  i'm looking to visit cuba and was thinking of traveling to san miguel, cuba and i was wondering if anyone has kingdom hall addresses (phone/address/location) want to visit my brothers there.

  Who else was homeschooled? What was your experience with it?

  I was one of the few that I know that actually finished. Most of the Witness kids I knew that homeschooled usually stopped and just got their GED (this is what my sister did). I was the "typical" brainwashed goody two shoes 14 year old homeschooled pioneer.

  I am quite a critic of homeschooling now. Such a bad idea for how many reasons, unless it's absolutely necessary (like for health reasons).

  With Betsy Devos as the new US Sec. of Education, it is a big possibility she may redirect money to families that want to homeschool. If this happens, I predict a boom in home schooling among Jehovah's Witnesses. And it will be so sad. It will isolate them further and we will probably see a surge in teenage pioneers, as well.
