I will admit to loving this game, too. It is so funny! And yes, it is a good thing there is no hell because we would be headed straight there! -

Adult Homework and Extra Credit
by lovesjehovah init seems that once we became sensible adult humans, we lost our way.
we stopped asking questions.
we submitted to the bidding of the world.

I cheated. But seriously ... our world could do without religion. I will attempt to make this change by not belonging to any religion.
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one -

Watchtower crackdown on anointed expansion - are they reaching for a solution to the expanding numbers problem?
by slimboyfat inif this has been discussed i missed it.
i think the january study watchtower is a concerted attempt to reduce the numbers claiming to be anointed.
but i love the sneaky way they go about it this time.

I was also wondering ... how does the Watchtower document how many of their members claim to be anointed? Are memorial partakers the only way they count this number? If there some secret form that congregations are asked to submit noting members that claim to be anointed? -

“I voted for [the rezoning], based on the promises that they made about the park and the subway stop, and based on the theory that religious organizations shouldn’t be treated the same as for-profit developers,” he said.
And right there lies the problem.

Nativity Scene in JW Literature
by Wild_Thing indoes anyone know if the jws have very printed a picture of, what might be considered, a nativity scene in any of their literature?
i think it would funny to create a christmas card using their own artwork!
haha!

Those are great! Thanks! I wonder how long it would take for JWs to realize it's their own artwork, but I sent them Christmas cards made with these images! Haha! -

Projectors and projector screens? Giant TVs and Roku boxes? Wifi in Kingdom Halls and a JW Broadcasting station?
Seriously! If I were to go back today, I would not know how to act! It doesn't even sound like the same religion! I completely expect to start seeing crazy Lett have his own Evangelical show on JW tv with an 800 number to call and donate money to the Lord!

Is this possible?
by WasOnceBlind infirst of all my parents don't know that i no longer consider my self a jw of believe in the stuff they say (after 10+ years of dissociation it shouldn't be rocket science) and there is no way my dad would ever listen to me if i were to talk to him about tatt and all the contradictions and false prophecies.
however, he is always reading, and he spends a lot of time in the computer using the wt library (the cd one).
i was wondering, if there would be a way to maybe "hack" the program, maybe replace some wt books with copies of something like crisis of conscience.

Other Religious Groups Critical of Higher Education
by Wild_Thing ini was reading an essay online about how witnesses are critical of higher education and discourage it.
the editor's note said there are other conservative religious groups that hold the same view towards education.. there are?
do any of you know of any religious group that works as hard as the jws at keeping their members stupid?.

Thanks for your thoughts. I forgot about the Amish, and I am surprised there are even any Pentecostal groups against education! I wonder if they are against it for everybody or just women?
Here is the link to the article about JWs and education: http://www.religioustolerance.org/anon03.htm It's an old article and does not offer any new information on the topic, but the "Webmaster's Note" caught my eye. It made me wonder if the webmaster was a JW!
Webmaster's note:
This essay is critical of the Watchtower Society's policy towards higher education among its membership. This policy is seen in other conservative Protestant faith groups as well. -
