I think he is a horrible person, so no. But even if I was a Trump supporter, I would not wear one.

I'm tired of hearing about so many people committing suicide. It's so sad and is becoming so common. We definitely have a mental health crisis in the United States right now.
Those of you living in other countries ... are you seeing the same thing? Or is this another American phenomenon?

Joseph Rutherford = Donald Trump
by Wild_Thing ini have been rereading a lot about rutherford lately; about his personality and the kind of person he was.
i have come to the conclusion that he was a lot like donald trump.. he was an accused womanizer.. he was a narcissist with a self inflated ego.
he claimed to be persecuted by the media all the time.

I didn't post this to stir shit up. I was reading about Rutherford and the similarities are alarming, and I thought I would share my thoughts. Instead of feeling like you need to defend Trump, you might want to read about Rutherford to see what kind of person he is. If you disagree with my assessment, but all means, share. From what I read, he was an asshole, but everybody felt obligated to put up with him anyway.
What stood out to me the most was the persecution complex that Rutherford had against the media. It reminded me so much of when I hear Trump railing against the unfair media. Claiming it's false news. Rutherford did the same thing.
If you want to discuss this observation with me, great! If not, feel free to move along.
I can't find where it is, but I was reading his report about one of the conventions in the 20s or 30s. If I can find it again, I will post it. I

I have been rereading a lot about Rutherford lately; about his personality and the kind of person he was. I have come to the conclusion that he was a lot like Donald Trump.
- He was an accused womanizer.
- He was a narcissist with a self inflated ego.
- He claimed to be persecuted by the media ALL the time.
- He elevated his successes to things of more importance than they really were (i.e. "Judge").
- He insisted on living like royalty.
- He was not well liked and had few close friends.
- He thought he was above the law (of both government and the organization) and could break rules others could not.
There has to a psychological/sociological explanation for how Rutherford and Trump rose to power, despite being such horrible people.

Scary Effectiveness of Assembly Videos
by Captain Schmideo2 inwell, i got to see the final day of this years regional convention.and i saw something that disturbs me.. the final, "summing up review" video.
it disturbs me because it was so well done.
(i wish i could remember the title of the song), to the strains of a solo vocalist singing in a fine "irish tenor", we see the actors from the previous videos of the last few days all assembling together in a clearing.

I see the homophobe made the cut. Where's Kevin? I guess he didn't make it into anybody's bunker!
And I would like to second OphanCrow's "holy fuck". The level of brainwashing is really disturbing.

What really happened around 1918 when WT leaders were imprisoned?
by dubstepped ini had never thought about this until just now when i saw that nathan natas posted some early tract from rutherford, and it made me think back to what little i could remember of the history i was taught.
i now know that in most cases the dubs will spin stories in their favor.
so i'm now assuming i was told some fictitious story about what happened when the leaders were thrown in prison and things looked bleak for the cult way back when.

Also, they put up the deed of the Bethel home for bail to the Judge and his buddies didn't have to spend the night in jail. They transferred the deed to an individual just hours before using it to post bail, so it would be legal.

There are several news clippings that give us clues as to the level of turmoil that was going on at the time. This is shows how Rutherford's plan was to retain control from within his prison cell.
