  the new class action lawsuit against the watchtower for having covered up child sexual abuse will begin in court on may 13-14-15, 2024 in the province of ontario, canada.

  it is not the same as in the province of quebec because the laws aren't the same.

  i don’t have more details.

  no-zombie: would you please give me this ref.? Is it in one of their videos? I have a hard time watching them for long, so hunting myself for this is out. I just can't take it. But I'd be willing to endure thru a bit in order to see this admission for myself. I think it's a very hot topic, given the apostle Paul's words at Gal. 2:11-14, as well as passages like Acts 15:37-39, Heb. 13:18b, and Jas. 5:16.

  Yes, this is an older in-house vid for elders. I remember seeing it some years back. It goes back to when DFings were still announced at service meetings, as one elder-actor states in it. Do they still use snail mail for inter-congregational correspondence? I don't know but I'd imagine not.

  Yes, Samcats, it would be nice to see the vid without all the YouTube "annotations." How does Eric Clapton's "Layla" or Simon and Garfunkel's music fit in with the mafia or the Witness world?

  This vid though is a classic case of why the GB have taken a more merciful stance toward those in the cong. who violate the rules. You can just imagine how non-Witness people involved in the "worldly" courts and political leaders would view the "judicial system" at work in the Witness world as portrayed here. No wonder they're reforming!

  i’m wondering what jws are taught or generally think the scriptures mean when they describe humanity has made in the image and likeness of god?

  If we may stay with info within the early part of Genesis itself (not later interpretations or modern feelings), the fact that the phrase "in his likeness/image" next occurs at Gen. 5:1 and 3 when Adam fathers a son in his likeness/image likely shows how the Hebrews responsible for writings Genesis meant the phrase to be understood in both places: parentally.

  I try to read and understand scripture as divorced from modern thinking as possible, and as close to its original context as possible. After all, we are talking about ancient documents from a culture far removed from modern Western civilization. I hope this helps.

I don't suppose the local police have investigated the supposed vandalism? Doubtless they have more important matters to investigate.
