an announcement to all congregations those with legal experience please come and work for free to cover up child abusers.. i mean what else would it be for?.
the cheek of it.. so the direction was always don’t go for advanced education and careers but now they are looking for such ones to give if their time and education for free?.
Just to clarify: "Such ones could have foreseen the mass of legal trouble the org was headed toward and left the legal department" not necessarily the org.

Have you considered the possibility that some Witness lawyers don't want to fill that role, especially if they did so in the past and were more competent than yes-man Brumley? Such ones could have foreseen the mass of legal trouble the org was headed toward and left, creating the current void. Now the org is hard up and looking for replacements, more brainless yes-men who will do whatever the GB tells Brumley to implement?
It's just one possible scenario.

So is all this in Argentina?
the first saturday in oct. is coming up soon.
that's when the org holds its annual meeting.
not that many years back, it used to be hyped beforehand with favored ones getting special invites.
No offense SBF, but if you really think that they'd even mention AM III,
I wonder, was there any reference at all, even a very oblique one, to the removal of AM3 from the GB? You’d think they might make some kind of vague reference to it, if for no other reason than to avoid the impression that are embarrassed about it.
then you have no idea how their mind works! You are truly out of touch with "God's earthly spokesmen," SBF!!!
In seems unlikely to me that their motives in slashing hourly requirements are for the benefit of the average publisher. We know that they seldom reveal their true motives for anything, and when they do supply some supposed reason for any change, it's usually some BS, or some PR move, far removed from their real reasons.
Perhaps they want to appoint men without them having to meet the longstanding 10-hour a month requirement. Or maybe there's some legal reason that no one can yet see. Legal reasons are often at work behind their policy changes. Perhaps they see a problem with such in-house data collection and the spirit behind the EU's GDPR. Surely some active Witnesses were irked by having to sign their org waiver to such collection. Even the daft GB can see that the spirit of the GDPR represents the future, and they, in an apparent rare display of insight (warned by Brumley?), are making a move in order to avoid legal problems down the line. These are just conjectures.
In any case, time may reveal more info on the reasons for this change.
As for Cook's "the JW B Broadcast," could it be that he almost let the phrase "the JW BS Broadcast" slip out? Just kidding, of course!

Thanks, BelisemDeBelimakom, for the reddit link!

Not that many years back, it used to be hyped beforehand with favored ones getting special invites. Since some PIMOs attending began giving nearly live reports which then appeared almost in real time in forums like this one, the GB did a 180 and now gives virtually no advanced announcements about it. Like so many other thing they do, it's now kept hush-hush.
Has anyone heard anything, perhaps from relatives still in? It's still an important in-house event where "new light" is revealed, etc. Perhaps we'll just have to wait till the edited portions of it trickle out piecemeal in a few months on the org website.
here is an apostate elder's honest testimony.. https://youtu.be/epmbbou4nve?si=lzhgmnbyyryurayx.
Sounds like a Crisis of Conscience.
so, folks, 60 years ago, starting on september 1st, i believe, we, local witnesses in southern california, had the "privilege" of attending the "around the world assembly", at, of all places, the rose bowl, in pasadena.
(i think that it was an 8-day assembly) i was 9 years old then, almost ready to start 4th grade.
so, was anyone else, on this site, at that assembly?
This was a very enjoyable and educational thread to read through. Many thanks to the "old timers" here who participated in sharing their experiences and impressions, now 60 yeas later. I see some you sort of came out of the woodwork for this—much appreciated!
The memoirs made me laugh again and again. Cheers to all who contributed.
Sounds like one of those "dad jokes."
