My DA letter ... comments?

in where it matters, we have not been associating with the b**** congregation for over 6 years.

moreover, we have not identified ourselves as jehovahs witness for about 5 years.

as such, we are informing the congregations that we have already disassociated from the jehovahs witness.. in this regards, we do not wish to be called on when the door to door service is performed either for monthly magazine campaigns, circuit/district assembly notices and memorial night flyers.

Hypocritical statement in the July 15th Watchtower denouncing those who "forsake" family members on religious grounds

i've had a quick glance through the july 15th watchtower, and at first reading there seems nothing too dramatic to report.. the title of the first article "let jehovah guide you to true freedom" seemed ironic to say the least.

not surprisingly, the way you get more freedom is by relinquishing it entirely to the watch tower society.

there is also a bizarre statement in the very first paragraph of the article on page 7 (bold highlighted remarks are mine):.

If they are just messing with the R&F now, I predict there will soon be an article ridiculing other religions about being a UN NGO.

If they actually are serious, I can't wait to see the crazy after they move to the compound.

How to counter a stupid illustration in the Bible Teach Book

the bible teach book uses the example of a math teacher who is challenged by a student who disagrees on how to resolve a math problem.

the teacher then lets him attempt to prove his point knowing that he can only fail.

the object of the exercise is to show the rest of the students that the teacher is right - that there is only one way to resolve the math problem....this is likened to jehovah letting satan exercise his power over the world so that the entire universe can witness his failure and that only jehovah's ways lead to happiness.... instead of maths, what if the teacher taught chemistry and a student would want to prove that the teacher is wrong when he says that certains chemicals can't be mixed without causing an explosion that would wipeout the school...would any sane, responsible, loving teacher allow such a student to experiment and wipeout the whole class just so the teacher can prove he was right?

1914+100 Years

i have been reading things for a while.

in approximately 20 months it will be the year 2014. that year will be 1914+100 years.

i don't know how the wts is going to get around that if the "present system" is still in existence.

They will blame the members for putting too much faith in the 1914 date.

And people will buy it. "Well....I guess we did. But it doesn't matter because armaggedon is soooooooooo close."

Actually....I don't think this is that cultish at all(well, not too much).

I think they want to be away from any bad publicity that their social ineptness causes like on 9/11.

Out in the middle of nowhere there really isn't many people to turn away if a disaster strikes.

Plus I think if they can get a good price for their Brooklyn properties and build for less, why not?

They will probably need all that extra money to pay off settlements anyways.

I just wonder if they are going to find a way to make the congregations pay for it while keeping the Brooklyn money.

it has been a long time since i have posted.

time heals much pain, and finally, my family and i have been able to move on with our life outside of jw land.. many of you became our friends, our support system, and you know very well our exit story...we were labeled, slandered and disfellowshipped for having questions regarding the date 607. we sent out letters exposing the elders and circuit overseer to over 200 families.
