  Athiests: Do you ever wonder... what if?

  i'll start by saying, i'm a ministerial servant who is trapped in the religion.

  my wife is hardcore...but i've slowly been getting her to lighten up, so i'll take it!

  all my friends and family are jw's, and i am employed by a jw (who is actually a great boss).

  The bible says we were made in gods image.

  If I was god and made the universe, I wouldn't demand everyone worship me. Hell, life would be a lot better for everyone and a lot more fun...but I digress.

  I wouldn't have given humans some nebulous book that can be interpreted a billion different ways.

  I wouldn't put a bunch of dorks with pinky rings in charge of my "chosen ones".

  If there does happen to be a god and when I die I go before him, I'm good. The last thing I'm going to think is, "Oh no! I didn't sit in a church and read some old book enough!"

  Did you ever actually believe the JW fantasy version of "Paradise"?

  i am sure this topic has probably been discussed many times before but,......... i would like reassurance that i am not the only one who gagged every time i heard a jw pontificating on their fantasy version of what "paradise" will be like.

  particularly when it comes to the animals.

  more specifically, that the animals will all become vegetarians.

  I was pretty much born in so it was basically a way of life believing it.

  A lot of the details mentioned above were never worried about because that was Gods problem.

  Pixar the production company is jealous of Caleb and Sophia video's

  so said the co last night.. apparently a jw was on a flight and just happend to sit next to some big wig from pixar and when the man from pixar heard that he was a jw the pixar man just gushed over what great work that the watchtower has done in producing the caleb video's.

  he siad he only wished pixar could do such great work.

  the co said we are able to do it because we have free labor and jehovah behind us.. my husband stayed home from the meeting but wanted to tie in by phone and that is what the co said in his talk.. the co also talked about all the changes that have happened in the last ten years and how if some of the friends did not like it they needed and to quote him "they just needed to get over it" these changes are going to happned period.

  i was recently approached by a couple of borg drones while i was walking my dog, and i thought why not, may plant a seed or two (how wrong was i).

  there was no real logic to what they were saying but as i was in the local park the conversation started to veer to how wonderful nature was and how this was the work of a wonderful creator.

  i did not let on i was a former witness and let them continue with their fairy tale of creation and how the vast multitude of animals shows a loving god at work blah blah blah...... but i digress, the converastion then turned to how evolution was false.. apparently to earth is only a few thousand years old, so i mentioned about the burgess shale, to be met with blank stares.

  i have always been attracted to very confident and self-assured women.

  so sexy.

  example - a girl who may not look like a skinny stick model at the beach in a bikini and rocking it.

  I read HP but didn't really care for them. I found them too formulaic.

  Try Neil Gaiman's Sandman or Garth Ennis's The Preacher if you don't mind something in comic-book form.

  this was the theme of a talk at this week's 2nd weekly meeting with the co.. .

  if you are a progressive thinker, so went the reasoning, you will accept all of the adjustments coming from the 'faithful and discreet slave'.. .

  this so hurt my head when wife told me about it; really?.

  Something Big is Coming...

  the annual meeting of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses will be in october 2014.. .. in november 2013, just after the last one they published this now famous statement in the 15th of november 2013 watchtower page 16 paragraph 17 says:.

  "at that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from jehovahs organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.

  all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.".

  I say the new loving arrangement will be that they'll sell off all the kingdom halls. Pocket the money. Tell the r&f to go home, get on jw.borg, wait for the glorious ones to tell them when armageddon starts. Maybe watch a Caleb video or two while you're waiting.

  i'm wondering what sort of biking shoes and pedals you are using.

  i'm a road biker, so i enjoy speed and distance riding, and am upgrading my shoes and pedals.

  anyone have experience with specialized road shoes with the boa stem?

  Road specific shoes are great for racing, but when you walk into a 7-11 its like walking on ice with most of them.

  There are a lot of mountain bike shoes that look like road shoes except they have some traction on the soles. The only problem there is that with most of them you need a SPD pedal.

  If you've already got your 105 pedals though, no worries, you pretty much can't go wrong with Shimano.
