China officially #1 WORLD POWER, surpassed USA in economy and soon will in military.
by EndofMysteries inanother thread related but the title only says, "china is #1", which can mean anything and hence many may not view it who would be intersted in the world power shift.. for the first time since 1945 usa is #2 for economy.

Isn't the basic E chord shape by definition a power chord?
I play quite a bit. I need to really delve into knowing theory and all. I can play a lot of songs but only because of magazines with tabs.
I love that there are so many videos on youtube either explaining how to play songs, especially those by the guitarist himself. Steve Howe is great to watch. There's one of Jake E Lee showing how people play Bark at the Moon wrong thats a blast to watch (I've been working on that song a lot lately). Jeff Beck showing all his guitars he's used. I didn't know that John 5 is such a telecaster enthusiest.
I bought a Kramer Barretta back in 87 or so that I still have. Bought a American Standard Strat that I eventually sold because it was really not that great. For amps I have a Mesa Boogie .22 and a Gallien Krueger 250ml. Eventually I'd like a Gibson 175es and a Telecaster Hot Rod...eventually.

To me it sounds like you need a Festivus miracle!
Get yourself a Festivus tree, "light brights", etc. and call it good.

Yep, Mark Hamill was a horrible actor.
I've also said a lot that they so lucked into getting Harrison Ford. Those movies wouldn't be what they are today without him.
As far as special effects. There is a charm to seeing real models and real sets instead of just CGI created worlds.

Higher Education... Some ideas for those that think it is too late
by adjusted knowledge inso many witnesses lost the opportunity to pursue higher education in their youths.
perhaps it took decades for many here to leave and now feel it is too late.
degree you will also earn multiple certifications from other agencies:.

I've been taking a bunch of the coursara classes lately. I don't pay for the certificate as I'm only taking them for entertainment.
Some are really good but with some I can't get past the accent. Not really their fault but when you can't inderstand them, what are you going to do?
With some it seems like the should have a chemistry prerequisite as the instructor is talking in terms I've never heard of before.
Overall though, with some things have really clicked and they've been really fascinating. And since they are free, if I don't like them I haven't continued the boring ones.

I'm excited to see the new ones but not holding my breath. I'm glad Lucas isn't directing them but I wasn't sold on what Abrams did with Star Trek.
RotJ was great. The emperor far made up for the ewoks.
The prequels just sucked because Lucas got such a big head and no one could tell him his ideas sucked. Joseph Campbell influenced Lucas a lot with the originals and it really showed. In the new ones, there wasn't anything that meant anything. Tidbits like Vader making C-3PO was cool but irrelevant. Otherwise it was just "ok, I'm a sith and you're a jedi, lets get this mandatory light sabre duel over with." Good(horrible) comedy with that last Vader "NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" though.
A lot of younger people I know always try and compare A New Hope with some newer movie(Serenity somehow always comes up). I tell them there is no comparison as SW was first. It was THE groundbreaker. My 10 year old self sitting in the theatre when it came out was blown away when in the first few seconds of the movie, saw the coolest space ship EVER! A few minutes later saw the coolest villian EVER! A few minutes later saw the coolest floating car EVER! a few minutes later saw the coolest sword EVER! A few minutes saw the coolest space ship EVER(yep, cooler than the one I just saw). It was EPIC! MAGIC!
Then in the prequels we get Jar-Jar Binks! Yeeeeaaaaaahhhh!

At This Point In Time Would You Ever Subject Yourself To A Judicial Committee?

Dungeons and Dragons, Magic: The Gathering and all the stuff you weren't allowed to play as a JW
by marmot inby nature i'm a total geek.
i read the lord of the rings for the first time in grade 3 and i would probably have had a 20-sided die hung around my neck if it weren't for the silly superstitious restrictions against playing rpgs among jws.
if anything they should encourage role playing games among the youth because it'll keep them virgins forever.

The only game I play is the miniature game of Warhammer 40k. It's fun to build them, fun to paint them and then a fun game to play.
I had a game store for 10 years and have sold a ton of Magic, D&D and a bunch of other games. There's enough out there to pick your poison. I found I prefer the the modelling aspect and 3-D aspect of the tabletop style.

Scientific explanation of how spirit creatures could materialize
by EndofMysteries inin my science class book i was just reading about particles and antiparticles.. i'll just quote a few parts, "every type of particle in nature must also have an alter ego, an antiparticle........one fascinating property of particle-antiparticles pairs is that if you bring such a pair together, the two particles will annihilate each other......when the pair annihilates, the mass of the two particles is converted into energy which is carried away by a pair of photons.....the reverse is also possible, two photons may collide to produce a particle and it's antiparticle-by a process called pair production.. so assuming spirit creatures are made of energy, there is a scientific explanation of how energy can become physical mass, and physical mass to energy.
whether you believe they exist or not, i thought that was an interesting read and a way to explain how they could materialize and de-materialize.. .

Of course spirits are made of energy. That's why the hair on the back of your neck stands up when they are nearby.
Yo, it's science!
