Funny how they CC your local congregation with this subject but when I got a letter from them with their explanation for the UN scandal they did not CC my local congregation. My PO at the time was troubled by that. I was further convinced of their deceptiveness.

Christians could and did. Can JWs? Do they?
by ANewLeif inthere are many things the bible says christians could do and things the bible describes christians doing that, according to their doctrine, jws can't do.. christians could talk directly to jesus.
(acts 7:54-60; acts 9:3-16) can you?
christians could decide for themselves which days they chose to observe without any fear of religious retribution.

My wife and I are both half Italian. We make a big pot a sauce, meatballs and spagetti. We have that with a red wine and wait for the opening song.

Something at school today.
by ColdRedRain intoday at school, i was drunk and there was this woman that went to my mom's kingdom hall.
she got pissed that i referred to her religion as a "church'.
she then tried telling me that i should be at the kingdom hall so i can get "better".

I can understand you wanting to experience what you missed out on. Just don't be stupid or you may experience more than you want. Hope you weren't driving. If you ever hit someone and your drunk, even if its not your fault your screwed. Your life will suck so bad you will wish you were a dub.
Sorry, Just trying the scared straight stuff. I actually drank more as a dub than I do now. I miss what I experienced in that cult. Damn it, I'm getting a 12 pack and going back.

Wow, wait a day and your in the archives.
I have read some of David Ickes but he is a little more out there than I am ready for. I do not believe in reptilians and transforming beings, etc.
I just think that what ancient people are describing in their holy books, including the Bible, would be described much differently today with our technical language. Culture after culture has stories of beings coming from the heavens, the skies, from above in a great boat, etc.
In the Bible they have cute names like Angels and Cherubs but what they are saying is the same.
As for the heavens being between the waters, I think that the Hebrew word for heavens meant "sky" and nothing more. But I don't speak Hebrew and have to take someone elses word on that.
Peace out.Hahahaha

"Watchtower" is a term from witchcraft NOT Scripture
by FuzzyPaul inhas anyone else ever noticed that there is no watchtower in scripture as part of any particular teaching but there is prominent use of watchtower in dungeons and dragons type games and forms of witchcraft including spells involving watchtower?
see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/watchtower_%28magic%29.
and msn search for watchtower alone & with magic spell or occult or witchcraft.. ct russell was a 33rd degree freemason ( illuminati) nutcase who read books by guys that measured the lengths of the halls in pyramids to foretell the future by.

Russell may have been a mason and was definetly inflenced by the interest in the occult that was prevelant in the Victorian era. I believe Russel though he could connect everything together as though they were all talking about the same thing.
The only real issue is that the WTS tries to hide all the contraversial stuff which is more damning than anything else.
