the general feeling on this website is that all religions have gods people in them.so why does it matter to you all.that you believe you were lied too?you show me a religion that is with out fault?show me a religion that has the total truth from the bible?

with out doubt despite what people say the jehovahs wittnesses.have the closest to the truth

Because it is about a relationship....not a religion. The society inserts themselves in the chain of salvation and convinces jws that they must follow the organization to have salvation. They make themselves the middle man in one's relationship with God. That is what is bogus. Salvation is through Christ alone....not through any church. The difference between jws and other churches can be seen in this: I went to a baptist church in Florida after my exit from the borg. I will never forget the pastor's words. He said "If I ever tell you that I am necessary for your salvation, I want you to run...don't walk to the nearest door...because if I tell you that, I would be lying to you. I am not necessary...this church is not necessary for your salvation. Christ, and Christ alone is necessary for your salvation"

The organization shuns those who dare to challenge their authority. The organization profits by misleading people and controlling their lives. The society keeps their followers from persuing their dreams and developing their God given talents. It's a crying shame.

Upcoming expedition to the 'Holy' land.

myself and a number of other scholars i've met on the internet have decided to pool our money and expertise and undertake a fact-finding mission to the 'so called' holy land.

as i've stated previously, we strongly feel that phenomena discussed in the bible, especially ezekiels wheel were indeed interplanetary craft, driven by lord's from beyond our star system.

based on descriptions, we believe these may have been nuclear as a primary power source and we expect to find strong evidence in the desert of past nuclear activity.

Friends of mine are in the rock and mineral business... and they have specimines of coprolite which is fossilized dinosaur shit. You would never know that's what you're looking at. They never heard of trinitite though.

does anyone know if the watchtower has ever claimed to be inspired?

i know that they claim to be directed by holy spirit, which means the same as being inspired, but have they ever used the word inspired?

I did say something to that effect, Legolas. I pointed out that in the 3 hours that we had been talking, they had failed to answer a single question that I asked, or address any of the issues I had raised. One of them stood up and pointed a finger at me and said "You're really proud of all the research you've done, aren't you?" I stood up too...and said calmly, "No....actually, it's been the most humiliating experience of my life."

It amazes me that they took no action against me because I really made them look like idiots. I faded without a single phone call or visit from them. It was almost a year later that someone reported my son attending a birthday party...and the fact that I had given my x a copy of Crisis of Conscience, that it was brought to a head, and I DAed. During that time..still officially in good standing, I manned the 800-why-1914 help-line.

During a 3 hour meeting, during which I got to confront them about some of the things I had discovered about the organization, I asked the elders if they could please explain the difference between being inspired and spirit directed. I got the deer in the headlights look...and then one said he would like to know what I thought the difference was. I said "I don't know...that is why I'm asking you." No answer...tried to change the subject, but I wouldn't let them. They hemmed and hawed...and finally they said that I needed to have a Bible study with a mature member of the congregation, because "it was obvious that I had missed something in my years as a jw" Yep...he was right....during all the years as a dub, I missed the fact that it was a fraud.

Don't you have to get permission from the governments in the area you plan to explore? It's a huge area...and the desert shifts constantly... takes some pretty serious equipment...and lots of time. Hope you have both.
