i was one of the group of sound servers in the congregation to play kingdom hall tunes, flip mikes on,etc.record the meetings [ scary thought].half the time we had to replace the casette tapes as people never returned them after they lent them.well anyway a few times i often entertained thoughts that i would love to start the opening of a meeting with bon jovi- living on a prayer or some other rock song like that.oh what the hell i think i,ll return one more time and leave with a loud entrance.
My dad was always in charge of the sound dept. at assemblies. We had all the equipment stored in our basement. He never sat with us at assemblies. I kinda liked that when I became a teenager...

this will be raising it's ugly head in the next few years with my kids unless we're out by then.
so, did anyone attend their senior prom while still a jw?
were they a jw too?
Was going through some old pictures... here's one of my junior prom...my date's face is covered...cause last I heard he was still in.... This is not my senior prom that I wrote about above... I lost those years ago... Note: the painting behind us is a mural I painted at about age 14...my parents wanted a picture of the paradise..

Well, the questions will have to wait for another month. My engineer friend was not there. He doesn't miss many of these dinners, but wouldn't you know he'd miss this one.
I'll see him next month...I hope.

oh well egg on my face your with us then. I haven't expressed an opinion, so don't jump to conclusions. I posted an article that I think is very good.
Sorry coffee I didn't read it all the way I though it was calling theorist kooks. No it agrees with them. I don't think it calls them kooks, but I don't think it (the article) agrees with them either.
Leolaia,
coffee_black ....Here is a question your friend may be interested in....ask him if he agrees with the NIST recommendations for upgrading building codes as a result from what was learned on 9/11 (if he is familiar with them). There is some speculation that the NIST report on WTC7 due later this year will make an important recommendation on the basis of the contributing factors to the collapse of that building.
I'll be sure to ask. Our State building code is undergoing some pretty drastic changes. Mostly wind load and coastal issues. That is actually the topic of the presentation at the dinner tonight....

So are you saying it support the aided collaspe theory? Though I still believe something went on I have pretty much given up on trying to prove it
5go,
I'm not sure you're asking me this question. If you read back through the posts, you will find that I am attending a monthly CSI dinner tonight. (not crime scene investigation...construction specifications institute...I know that's confusing, but it's a completely different organization) At my table is usually an engineer who works for the above profiled firm. I can discuss the structural failure of the WTC with him. He will have a very educated opinion because that is what he does for a living...has for many years.
He's not involved with the response team or the aftermath....just the forensics of how/why the building fell.
After I've talked with him, I'll let you know what he says.

ok...while I posted that, I missed a couple of posts.
VM44 I don't think he'd be qualified to answer that one either. Just structural issues.
HS... I don't think I've ever seen you post a smiley before! I can't say I've read all your posts though... That just tickled my funny bone.
