  It's been going on long before the internet.

  As a dub, I once got an engagement ring in the mail (the guy had not asked me to marry him)

  A guy I met at an assembly moved across the country a few months later...and then called to say he was looking for a wife...would I be interested?

  Another guy showed up on my doorstep unannounced, having hitch hiked over 500 miles...had met this one at district assembly.

  My poor dad... he was really put through his paces...

  i work nights so when i get off i'll run by walmart to grab something to make for breakfast or just if i need something or whatever.

  this morning at 6:55 (i know because i looked at my watch) a little black girl maybe 7 years old came up to me by herself to offer me a tract... i mean come on it's still full freaking dark out and this poor little kid is handing out tracts alone.

  i asked her "where are your parents.

  and one more thing... At 6:55 AM on a Saturday morning, this was long before a meeting for service. I really doubt there were other jws with them at that time of day... it is possible but not likely.

  Lola, as a parent and grandparent who has had this done to me...and who has done this to my children, I would never have them out of reach, in the dark, approaching strangers under any circumstances. That is puting them at risk.

  Lola, I did streetwork as a child...but was right by my mom's side... and never that early in the morning! My kids did streetwork with me a couple of times...but again, right at my side...and at a reasonable hour. Even as the adult in the situation, I didn't know I had a choice...it was all I ever knew. Thankfully, I know better now... and my grandkids don't peddle magazines.

  No Rosalee... you just bring back the memory of why most of us left. You come across as bitter, judgemental, unhappy, and probably very lonely. Most of us were where you are right now...not so long ago...Trying desperately to defend an organization we once trusted...only to find out that it's a fraud. It's a tough place to be in.... You come out swinging at people who have been through terrible things because of the organization you are defending. You have so very much to learn.

  If you think that by coming here and attacking xjws you are somehow proving your own righteousness, you are sadly mistaken. Not just on this but other threads, your behavior is about as far from Christian behavior as one can get.

  nope and neither were you.

  I'm just working with the facts that we do know. You are making up your own. Even if there were others there (and there is nothing to indicater there were others there), the parents should have stayed close to their own child. It is common sense...
