  Are Popovers and Yorkshire Pudding One and the Same?

  My mom used to make popovers.

  Anthony's Pier 4 in Boston is famous for them http://www.pier4.com/history/history.cfm It's a Boston landmark. They are served with every meal. I go there once a year with my company after a trade show we do next door at the world trade center in Boston. The food used to be better...has gone downhill, but the last time we went it was getting much better.

  I don't think I've ever had yorkshire pudding...

  It's amazing, isn't it, Isaac? I think there are jws who want to believe so badly that the wt is "God's organization", that they will swallow anything the wt spews...believe any excuse, however far fetched...believe anything that even begins to sould like a reason. The wt holds its members mentally and spiritually captive.

  Isaac, To believe they didn't know is naivite at it's finest. They railed against the UN for decades...I remember article after article as I was growing up that identified the UN as the vilest of the vile... How could they not know they were joining it when signing up as an NGO? Really? They signed on the dotted line, didn't they? Do they not have a huge staff of lawyers to advise them? They don't make a move without Legal. Bottom line: they knew exactly what they were doing...and didn't think they would ever be caught. When they did get caught, they scrambled to extricate themselves.

  Just more evidence that God is not directing them at all.

  Why is the Bible so complicated...

  The Watchtower identifies the UN as the Beast of Revelation. They condemn other religions for "lying down with the Beast".

  Then the Watchtower joins the Beast as an NGO.... so they can have access to the Beast's library.

  That must be SOME library! So, lying down with the Beast is perfectly ok as long as you do it to have access to their library. Alrighty then....

  i stopped whilst still an active witness, just cancelled my direct debit and told myself i would put money in the box to cover things like literatrash and heat and light sometimes, and sometimes i did , but that dropped off.. the thing is, i cannot really pin down what my motive was at the time, i still thought then that it was god's org.. but i just stopped giving them money.

  why ?

  i dunno.. when and why did you stop giving them money ?.

  Yes, Curiousbutterfly, that is for one year. I saw a Dunn & Bradstreet report for the WT in the early '90s... and it showed income for that year a2 1.25 Billion. for the year. Their income has gone down since then. Wish I still had a copy of it...
