I agree BTS...but what to do about it? I'm 1500 miles away, and she is freaked...and doesn't need that kind of thing along with the heart trouble she has...

ok.... looking for some logical explainations.... my daughter, ali, who i've been posting about on the forum...who has developed congestive heart failure.... has had some spooky experiences lately in her house.
here are a few of the things that happened:.
about a month ago, ali and her son david, heard noises from the attic above ali's bedroom...that sounded like something was being dragged across the attic floor.

My daughter, Ali, who I've been posting about on the forum...who has developed congestive heart failure...
has had some spooky experiences lately in her house. Here are a few of the things that happened:
About a month ago, Ali and her son David, heard noises from the attic above Ali's bedroom...that sounded like something was being dragged across the attic floor. David went into the attic and found a pair of Ali's sandals and a pair of sox. There was no reason for these items to be in the attic. It is not used for storage... and no one ever goes up in the attic.
A couple of days ago, Ali went to pick up David at an after school function and took her other 2 kids with her. They were gone about 20 minutes. When they returned, Ali found a dress (that had been at the back of her closet...and that she had not touched in about 5 years since she had last worn it to an American Heart Assoc. fundraiser, ironically) ...draped across her bed....the bed she had been resting on before getting the call to pick David up. All the doors and windows in the house were locked...and all keys accounted for. She had changed the door locks about 6 months ago, and no one other than Ali and the kids have keys. The landlord does not have a key...and lives in Connecticut. Ali is in Orlando, Fl.
When this happened, Ali called her landlord and asked if there was anything she should know about the house.... her landlord said that the people who lived there before had some strange things happen, but didn't say what. Ali has lived in the house about 8 years, and a few things have happened over the years that were odd...but she didn't take seriously. Things go missing all the time....but she has 3 kids after all.
The house is a bungalo that sits on a huge lot. The landlord has been offered a huge amount of money for it because 4 or 5 houses could be built on the lot. The landlord won't sell... and in the 8 years Ali has lived there, her rent has only gone up $50. per month... Ali thinks her landlord may be hiding something... but what?
Baffled...

note the home page..wow how it has changed.. jehovah's witness discussion forumthe place to discuss anything relating to jehovah's witnesses and the watchtower bible and tract society... or just make new friends!.
many of the posts have nothing to do with with jehovah's witnesses and new ones coming on this board would be turned off by the content of many of these off color posts.
foul inappropriate language which is not proper or suitable for exiting witnesses to visibly inspect.
AGuest,
I love the way you express things...and agree with you completely here.
This board has indeed changed over the years. That's a good thing!!! When Simon first started the board he was still an active jw. Communicating with others here along with his own experiences were istrumental in his own exodus from the wt. Change is a part of life.... and our own shared personal experiences have helped us to learn that here.
Freedom can be a scary thing to some...especially when one is born in the organization and knows no other structure. Trying to retain the structure while losing the borg is a tricky thing... One can enjoy being an elder...and want to recreate that position outside the borg. That doesn't work with those who are truly out of the wt.

since we've been directed to highlight jehovah's witness subjects on jwn, i'd like to know what things we should be talking about.. perhaps we can discuss how we were affected by the questions on the written review?.
do you have any other meaningful topics you would like to suggest so that we can keep jwn on a jw theme?.
And no saving of seats!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about the schedule to clean the kingdom hall. Whose turn is it this week? Brother Minimus, will you take the lead?

I'm speechless! That doesn't happen often.

The JWs are no longer the focus of my life. When I get together with my xjw friends, the organization is not often the topic of conversation. We have grown... I have a "normal" life now. I am no longer eaten up with jw stuff. I think that's very healthy.
JWN is a community with a common bond.... and we can discuss anything and everything, using our new found freedom. We can laugh, cry, commiserate, learn from one another...hang out together...be there for one another...discuss politics, and cooking...share the good news and bad news in our lives...ask for and give advice..tell jokes and funny stories...and so much more. That can involve many topics besides jw stuff. I think as one reclaims his or her life...the jw topics start to dwindle. That's a good thing... it means that one can reach a point where the watchtower no longer has any control over one's life. I think that is the ultimate goal....to say to the wt... We are free of you!
Usually when one is in the process of leaving...and for a while afterward, it is normal to be at least somewhat obcessed with the wt. Staying obcessed means the wt wins. It is not healthy They have already taken many years of our lives. I'm not going to give them any more.. Part of the recovery process is to learn about life outside the wt and get on with a real life! Discussing what is going on in the world and our lives is a healthy thing. We can learn from each other. We need to learn to relate to people in the world outside the wt. You sound like you want us to be controlled just like we were in the wt. Not me! It's one thing to try to help struggling jws and those first leaving the wt... it is quite another thing to try to control them.
We've all been through a lot...and we need the fluff posts too. We need to laugh. Lighten up!
As far as the inappropriate language... it's not just this forum...it is part of every day life...it's everywhere. I don't use that language myself...and try to ignore it when I see or hear it. You can too.

when the challenger exploded?.
i was dutifully going door to door to door, when a lady came to the door crying about the cahllenger.
she invited me in and i placed a set of magazines.
I saw it happen. I was on I-4 in Altamonte Springs, Fl, just northeast of Orlando... I could see the explosion in the sky and knew something was wrong. I turned on the news... and heard the sad story. I was on my way to call on an Interior Design firm in Altamonte Springs, and by the time I reached their office, I was pretty shaken. They hadn't heard what had happened, and when I told them they turned on the news right away. Didn't do any business that day....not a pleasant memory.
