has anyone ever thought of creating a jw sitcom?
i mean, there's enough humor and drama in jw culture to keep audiences entertained for multiple seasons.
we have judicial committees, c.o.
I think it's a great idea!!!

the beatles were on ed sullivan for the first time fifty years ago.
it blows my mind.
i gave them three months and i was a fan before they appeared.
I saw them on Ed Sullivan too. I was hooked. My JW dad bought me a promotional magazine filled with pictures of the Beatles. Sometimes he did things that were totally outside the JW box....

i was reading the book 'time at hand' by russell dated 1889 volume 2. in the book russell says that the 'day of the lord',' day of trouble' started in 1873.. i thought he was with boubor on the time of jesus so called start of his heavely kingdom to be 1878, of course after boubor prodicted 1878 as the year for armagedon and it didnt happen so he substituted "his presence" instead.
but this book seems to state other wise??
please advise.. also after russell's perdiction of armagedon in 1914-15 did happen, didnt rutherford say some thing to the effect that 'yes the time had ended the gentile times, and were now in a new age and thats why that generation would not die etc.
Cutting to the Chase: Jesus said : Take heed you be not seduced; for many will come in my name, saying, I am he; and the time is at hand: go ye not therefore after them. Luke 21:8.
Clearly Jesus said not to follow those who preach that the time is at hand. The wt even had a book entitled "the time is at hand.".... Simple, informed decision NOT to follow the wt.

so i am not officially da/do yet and my family has shunned me hard.
today crying my mother calls me to beg to see my children... should i let her?
i feel that if you can speak abusive of your own son and wife and shun the.
You gave her a chance. She wants it her way or not at all. That is pathetic. As the parent of your kids, you have the right to make the rules fpr them...period.

i was a junior borgite in 1975. i remeber looking at the calendar at work in october and thinking: 'armageddon isn't here yet.....and it doesn't feel like it will be here anytime soon either!'.
i was surprised that jehovah hadn't obeyed the superior command to bring the big 'a' as instructed to him by fred franz.
how dare god disobey the jw leader!!!!!.
My daughter will be 38 in March. I'd say they were a little off.....

I was pregnant in 1975...now that was fun. Ali was born in March of 1976. I never really bought into the 1975 thing... My Dad always said that we should not serve for a date.....and that if Jesus didn't know the day or hour, then how in the world did the organization think they could figure it out.

I would tell her that she can see them, but only in your presence.

one for mit last month, and one for princeton tonight.. if i told this to people at my old hall, i am sure the reaction would be the same as if i broke a big, noisy windblast in front of them.. but i have to brag about it to someone, so, i will do it here.. .
we will not know anything about whether he is going to be accepted for a couple of months yet, but, as they say, this $%^# just got real!.

Congratulations to you and your son!

as a born-in, i was eager to join the ministry school.
my cousins were also born-in but lived in different states.
there was keen competition to see who could do mature things, such as baptism (my mom said when i was 35) and ministry school.
I joined the ms and gave my first talk at the age of 8. I gave my first presentation at the door at the age of 4.
I do feel it has benefited me in some ways. When I interviewed with my present company, the job description involved cold calling on Architects and conducting seminars. My interviewer asked if I was intimidated by Architects.... I said no...explained my jw background... and said if I could go from door to door selling religion from the age of 4... then what could possibly intimidate me about Architects? He laughed and said he had never thought of that. I got the job.
