i'm working on an article tonight from an interview i did last week with jane sanders, the president of burlington college and the wife of us senator bernie sanders.
i was thinking of the wts's comments this summer at the dc where they really bad mouthed the value of a college education.. this is what jane sanders said:.
"the cost of education is very high, and we are one of the only industrialized nations in the world that doesnt give some kind of strong support to higher education, that considers that that is a necessity.

i wish a thread would start where in everyone would explain why they picked the avatar they have.
i have not found one, yet..... v.
My avatar is a drawing by my son. My name is name refers to the fact that I like coffee and I drink it black. I'd Simpsonize it, but I don't want to change my son's drawing.

here's the scenario: you buy an item and it's on sale for 10% off the original price.
a new cashier charges you, instead of 10% off, 10 cents!
this happened to a woman who bought a leather coat among other things and when she reviewed her slip she knew absolutely that the new cashier messed up.
I would have told her.
I once cashed my paycheck, and the teller gave me an extra $100. The bills were new, a couple were stuck together. I didn't notice until later that day. Problem was that the bank I cashed the check at is about 30 miles from where I live, and there wasn't enough time to get there before they closed for the day. So I called and told them what happened and told them that because of where I was scheduled to work, I wouldn't be in that area for a couple of days. I went back, as I promised, and had the hardest time giving them back the $100. It was kind of frustrating, but at least I felt like I had done the right thing.

for those of you who know my story, i was an elder/cong book study overseer/school overseer just about 9 1/2 months ago now.
when the rest of you faded and left (as i have since then) - did any of you write letters to your old friends in the hall explaining your decision and exposting the borg as the fraud that it is?
if so, what was your response, if any?.
I did. I sent a letter to people I had known and loved all my life while in the borg. I enclosed a copy of my disassociation letter to let them know the reasons I had for ending my association with the organization. They would never hear the real reasons from the platform. I actually got a few responses, and one even said that they respected me, and would continue to talk to me. Time has proven that to be untrue though.

printed during w.w 2 on cheap paper this soft cover book is rare.
so i stole one from the hall.
interesting quotes.. watch.
My parents went together for 10 years because of this lunacy, Eventually someone at headquarters got married, and it was suddenly ok to marry. It was 1949. After waiting that long to marry, they decided they would not listen to the society about having children. So they had me...and tried to have more.. I had a brother who lived only a day and a half... and that was it.

having been raised a witness, i was taught to never refuse an assignment.
view everything as a "privilege from jehovah".
so naturally, wanting to be an elder was very important to me and to my family.
I was going to be in the art department at Bethel.
