It just breaks my heart to see people go through this. Hopefully your story will have some influence on others in similar situations.

Have I been red flagged?
by searching4? ini find it very weird that in 13 years, not one jw has come knocking on my door.
i don't live in my home town and have had no contact with witnesses ( besides my mom) since i was disfellowshipped in 1992. is it possible that my mom ( still a witness) has alerted the local kingdom hall and had me placed on the " do not call" list?
or maybe i just live in the area of slacker witnesses?

I was wondering the same thing. I asked awhile back on this forum if the dubs still go door-to-door because in fifteen years I have not had one caller. Don't get me wrong, I don't want any. I was just curious if they had some "new light" that made going out in service unneccessary. Everybody said they haven't changed their beliefs but maybe they are just getting lazy?

What if jws were given polygraphs?
by gringojj inwhat would the results be like for questions like "have you ever doubted your religion"?
how about "do you believe your worldly husband will be killed at armageddon"?.
what if the wts decided to use polygraphs on all dubs to test thier faith?.

I don't even know what to say. For years I had to listen to all of that crap about the UN. Sheesh.

the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Incorporated joined the UN/DPI for 10 years, from 1991 to 2001?
They what? I'm sorry, I haven't kept up with the dubs in the last fifteen years or so. What does the above mean?

FlyingHighNow: I went for a computer degree but wound up with business instead. Too much math in the computer degree for me and the market is saturated anyway. I did get the job I wanted (after several tries).

Aljazeera skewing the news again
by Elsewhere inthis morning it was all over cnn about how the us intercepted a letter from al-zawahiri (al-qaida's #2) addressed to al-zarqawi (al-qaida in iraq).. in this letter he said:funds are drying up, and actually asked the al-qaida members in iraq to send money.
al-qaida has lost many of its key leaders.he is resigned to defeat in afghanistan.complained that the al-qaida activity in iraq that is killing iraqi civilians will likely alienate the "muslim masses".. basically the letter talked about how bad things are for al-qaida.. i went to the aljazeera web site to see their spin on it.
what i found was nothing.

I wish I had read that through all of that linkfest before apologizing for using the sarcasm tag. Apology retracted. It is the National Day of Courtesy in Britain so I will try not to be rude.
First of all, I can't believe I have responded to a post about the war in Iraq. I have been suckered in by boredom. I just really can't believe that with all of the information available to the average person today, some are still unable to do a little research and make an attempt at getting an informed opinion before voting or even something as innocuous as posting "infotainment" as fact.
Secondly, you can quote this and link to that all you want but you won't find any progress towards peace or "weapons of mass destruction", for that matter, in Iraq. What you will find, thanks to the Bush regime, is an Al Quaeda paradise and plenty of death and destruction. Why did we do this? Apparently because god talks to dubya.
