My avatar is a publicity photo from the TV series Utopia.
Which seems appropriate for JW's.
i think that's the correct phrase?
anyway when i first came here, that little picture that "the rebel" hides behind, was a self portrait of a very sad man, who simply had too much knowledge.
now i feel after 7 months here, i should repaint that " avetor" give some happiness to the eyes, and a contented smile to the lips.. in short my " avetor" was a self portrait of a man with too much knowledge.
i keep up with allexperts.com, and i noticed an interesting question to "brother rando".
his statement surprised me, and i am wondering if i missed some new light along the way.. question:.
"hello bro rando.
100 years or so maxes out generation.
Genesis 50: 22-23
22 And Joseph continued to dwell in Egypt, he and the household of his father, and Joseph lived for 110 years. 23 Joseph saw the third generation of Eʹphraim’s sons, also the sons of Machir, Manasseh’s son. They were born upon Joseph’s knees.
Over a 110 year period, how many generations did Joseph live to see?
article dated 4/19/16, says jonathan sanders is asking for statements from uk residents, about jw experiences that have happened since 2011, to assist the investigation.. marina.
“Dear All,
I hope you are all well. It is bright and sunny here in London so I hope the weather is good in your part of the world.
We are continuing to make good progress on our inquiries into safeguarding and charities linked to Jehovah’s Witnesses; I am also pleased to say that we are in addition making progress in addressing the complaints we have received regarding governance and the public benefit delivered by the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Britain. I am looking forward to being able to share further information with you on both counts in the very near future.
I would now like to ask people who have experience of the following to let me know if they would be prepared to make a formal written statement:
- Direct, first-hand experience
- Of safeguarding
- In charities linked to congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses
- In England and Wales
- After 2011
- And NOT currently being investigated by the police or going through the criminal or civil courts
I know that there are many people whose experience has been different. I would like to assure you that I value the information you have shared with me to date. I hope it will be all right for us to stay in touch so that we can communicate with each other about the way the inquiries are going; I in any case anticipate that I will be coming back in the not too distant future with further appeals for witnesses who have had different experiences.
I also recognise that there are many people who are not in a position to provide a statement. Please do not feel under any pressure from me to do anything that is not right for you; and again please allow me to assure you that the information you have shared has been invaluable in helping us to develop our lines of inquiry.
Some of you have already contacted me either directly or indirectly with details of your experiences. I am very thankful to you for doing this. I am however mindful of the need to ensure that whatever steps we take are underpinned by best evidence, and so this is why I am now asking you to consider working with me to translate the emails and letters you have sent into formal statements.
If your experiences are reflected above, I would be very grateful if you would consider contacting me so that I can give you more information about the next steps. I would envisage meeting in person and taking a statement from you. I would not ask any questions about the detail of the abuse but would rather ask about how the trustees of the congregational charities dealt with what happened.
I know this is a lot to think about so please let me know if you have any questions. I would as ever be very pleased to field questions on any other aspect of our work or simply to catch-up!
Take care,
Jonathan.

hi all.. so i got a txt today from a very proud mum claiming that, the jw cart produced 300 book and magazine placements.

So I got a txt today from a very proud mum claiming that, the JW cart produced 300 book and magazine placements. Mostly from foreign speakers.
The Shard is the tallest building in the UK. This is where the cart was placed.
Not a bad day they had really. It was over 2 hrs. So that's 150 an hour. Every time I've always seen the cart out and about a city or town nobody has been to it.
With apologies to your mother but I'm struggling to believe this,
I work very near the two carts they have there. One cart is near the Tooley Street entrance to London Bridge station and the other cart is near the Shard.
Firstly - the JW's behaviour. I see them:
But I never, ever, see them talking to people or people picking up literature. It never happens. I've seen other JW's talking to them (maybe at handover points in the day) but no normal members of the public at other times,
I keep meaning to counter witness to a younger one sometime, but I'm generally walking though from one of our offices to another.
Secondly - why would foreign speakers.pick up English based publications? Surely they'd want it in their own language?
So for those reasons I'm struggling with 300 placements in 2 hours.
when i think of integrity, a lot of positive connotations come to mind.
i think of individuals grounded in principles, who do not operate on opinions that change based on the breeze of political or social change.
a life that is directed by a code of morality, not on capricious emotions.
We are not beholden to men we support the GB because we see that God is with them.
Really? How does that work? They propagate false teachings such as the 1914 doctrine, the doctrine of the Great Crowd being in Earth, Christ being the Mediator only for the 144,000 and so on.
The verse shows that the ten men are not literally ten men but people of all nations and languages.
Really? All nations and languages? Are any of these 10 men Spanish? Chinese? Russian? French?
The same prophecy is used in The Septuagint and the tetragramaton is used YHWH showing we must use the name Jehovah, no matter how you pronounce it,
You must use the name Jehovah no matter how you pronounce it? So If I choose to pronounce it LORD then that is ok - right?
Be honest. Have you ever met a people more loyal than Jehovah's Witnesses?
Yes. That loyalty is dependant on loyalty to the GB - the Organisation. If someone express legitimate doubts, like with the false doctrines above, that loyalty will be totally withdrawn.
That's why we are constantly growing in knowledge of the Bible
Changing teachings because they run out of time is not growing in knowledge.
for refusing to break God's command on blood
Being loyal to an insane interpretation of the Bible is not a good idea! 1,000s have lost their lives over this insanity!
By the way - did you know that by posting on this site YOU are being disloyal to the Organisation?
so my hubby has been on a bit of a roll about the jdubs, we were talking a lot about them & he said the buzz word he hate's the most is "worldly" why?
because he say's "with that one word they have condemned (according to their believes) a person as being worthy of nothing but death.
".
Fine.
Because of the JW's I hate the word fine.
Welcome to this fine meeting.
That was a fine talk wasn't it?
Thank-you for sharing that fine experience.
Ahhhh. I hate the word. Thankfully it's rarely used by normal people.
i came across this blog - it is one of the evilest things i've ever read.. http://dismythed.blogspot.com/2016/02/flip-side-news-opposers-want-ex.html.
you might not want to click on it because a) you'll give it more traffic and b) it will make you mad.
in summary it states that since only 11-17% of molesters are repeat offenders, witnesses guilty of abuse should be dealt with inside the congregation as long as they confess.
They have a family and their grown children love them and, though knowing about the person's past, have stated that the person never did anything to them.
Idiot.
So he/she isn't a member of that family. How can they know whether or not their abuser has abused other children which weren't of that family?
The publicity surrounding cases can bring out other examples of abuse that were done in secret. But by covering it up it removes any possibility of others coming forward.

have you heard about the eye of horus?
Do you think these are “the promised things”?
i mean this with all due respect, i would like to hear from genuine people who think jw have it wrong and then what is the truth?.
im not talking about silly little quibbles here and there.. is jehovah real?
the the bible is word?
Firstly the issue:
The 1st prophecy in the scriptures is Genesis 2:17 where God essentially warned the first humans:"if you go independent of Me, it will bring about your demise"
The proof of that is in two parts: the climate crisis is already far along the way to proving that civilisation cannot survive without help, and God's intervention will give proof that He can provide it.
Given that this 1st prophecy far predates the climate crisis, and given that we are rapidly running out of options, is it not reasonable to give a measure of credence in the pairing of the two?
1) There was nothing about going independent of God in Gen 2:17. It talks about eating from a tree and if they did they would die that very day:
But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die.”
You do two things with that scripture that means you follow the belief systems of other religions. You interpret that scripture to mean something other than what it says. All that verse says that if you eat from this tree then you die. And clearly that verse is untrue as they didn't die that day. There is nothing about going 'independent of God'.
You presumably follow the belief systems of other religions by interpreting that 'day' doesn't mean day as in the 24 hour period of time. Even though there is nothing to suggest that it isn't 24 hours. There is no prophecy here. If it was a prophecy (history written in advance) then it would suggest that God knew that Adam and Eve would eat of the fruit. Which means they were always going to do so. So much for free will!
With no logical reason you then connect the climate crisis to this scripture (not prophecy as explained above). This is a leapt of imagination.
Second is supplemental:
the issue has nothing to do with belief, nor doctrines, nor religion - it is concerned with authority. God had authority over the earth, and Mankind usurped it
This is easily dismissed.
You are (and correct if I'm wrong) suggesting that Adam was the first man. But he wasn't. Humans lived long before c. 4,000 BC. We are related to Neanderthals. This is a genetically different humanoid species to us. Yet it's been recently discovered that about 2-7% of yours and mine DNA (it varies depending on where we originated from) comes from Neanderthals. This is because our ancestors had sex with Neanderthals. You can't actual with genetics. It's simply a fact.
So how do Neanderthals fit into all this? You have a humanoid species on Earth, living for 100,000 years before us. Were they created by God? Why did he let them breed with humans (homo sapiens)? How do they fit into God's 'authority' given they were living independently, hunting animals, long before this time period of 4,000BC? Predating it, to use a word you like.
Reason, therefore, does NOT impel credence.
