  I did:

  Neanderthals are genetically distinct from modern humans, but are more closely related to us than chimpanzees are.

  Neanderthal Mitochondrial and Nuclear DNA

  Neanderthals have contributed approximately 1-4% of the genomes of non-African modern humans

  Interbreeding
  

  As you can see, we got 1-4% of our genomes from a different species.

  Right through the late 1980's and early 1990's scientific research was done to debunk so-called 'neanderthals. They were proved to be human.

  The Genesis account, that we all learned, speaks of all mankind coming from a common ancestor, Adam. It's a foregone conclusion that it is accepted in the Bible Belt that we all descend from a common ancestor. How you have made this an issue, and made it supposed proof of evolution is breathtaking.

  i remember about 5 years ago reading on another site about subliminal images in wt literature.

  i honestly thought it a load of bs until i checked out one glaringly obvious image of a creepy skull in clouds within the knowledge book.

  i was shocked and even showed my wife at the time who thought it was creepy.. so my question is why?

  for some reason i found myself shaking my head once again in disbelief at the story in genesis.. amongst all things, the very concept of a "flaming sword" spinning around and blocking the "entrance to the garden of eden" is so stupid!.

  do people really believe that as a fact?.

  seriously, swords were not even invented at that time!

  Jesus did. He said the flood happened. Which is BS.

  And of course there's 2 Tim 3:16.

  When talking to JW relatives I point out two things.

  1. The Tree of Life was not a symbolic tree. It was a magic tree because if Adam and Eve, or their descendants, got to it and ate from it they would live forever. Hence the angels and spinny sword.
  

  2. This account means that God, the God of peace, invented the first sword.

  Strangely enough they change the subject soon after.

  Jim and Linda Cleary.....now there,s a story !

  Jim was our CO in the mid-90s.

  A self righteous idiot, who was a big Trekkie. He would insist that ST:TNG was recorded by his host family when it was on. Got very stressed when someone forgot.
  

  He was loved and loathed fairly evenly. He told me whillst we were on the ministry how his body of elders had found out that a lad had watched Aliens (an 18 rated film he stressed) so they D'fd him for his lack of repentance.

  He had a habit of moving the podium away so it didn't block him. So he'd be standing there just behind the microphone. Seemed to love everyone being able to see him fully.
  

  Years later we heard some stories about him.

  Firstly that he'd left his wife amd run with some other woman.

  Then that this was totally untrue.

  Then that it was true.

  So we never got to the bottom of it.

  Is this where he ended up?

  The five-strong team are all Jehovah’s Witnesses, with Liz Henderson and Micah Alford there daily, Natalie Webb works part-time and book-keeper Jim Cleary comes in once a week. “We take our religion seriously, but not ourselves,” said Jim, summing up the warm atmosphere around the place in an instant.

  to those on these forums who are christian and or to those who believe in the god of the old testament; how does one overcome many of the questionable actions god took or allowed to happen in the old testament?.

  many if not most of us have heard of criticisms of the god of the old testament.

  you can find these criticisms on many websites.. how do you explain to an honest hearted person why god acted the way they did?.
