With the Big A imminent, and money tight, it's surely a fine blessing to see the bruvvers planning 6 years ahead.

My Opinions on whats going on in WT land - Insider Information
by thedepressedsoul infirst off, i'd like to state that i currently have "privileges" in the congregation and volunteer at bethel on and off throughout the year.
that's as much information as i will currently give about myself.. starting off, i think something big is coming in the form of lawsuits and bad pr.
they seem to be batting down the hatches in preparation for something the last few years and even more so the last few months.

Fair point well made.
The WT is simply carrying on the Bible's track history of grandiose statements that never got fulfilled.
As long as you realise that one day you'll be on your death bed looking back over a life spent waiting for the Big A, like many generations of Bible believers before you, then that's fine.
I'll try to remember to dig out this 2017 nonsense in January 2018!

There is a push to complete Warwick; WT wants to get out of Kings county ASAP before all hell breaks loose, they want to direct the work from Warwick.
True, they also believed this to be the case in the past, but WT is expecting something big to hit soon by 2017 and they want to be in Warwick when they believe it will.
WT 1915 January 15th p.29 - And now we realize that we stand on the threshold of the Kingdom, and that possibly our next report will not be to Brooklyn, but to Headquarters beyond the veil.
Ooh look! A prophecy! Maybe Warwick is beyond the veil? Wow and they said that....almost 100 years ago. A 100 years of being on the threshold...

Deconstructing Splanes 'Generation' explanation
by Splash inat around 4 minutes into the september 2015 video splane said "for the man and the baby to be part of josephs generation they would have had to have lived at least some time during joseph's lifespan.".
this is the lynchpin of the wt argument, that two lives must overlap to be considered the same generation.. let's take an example of twins who are born just a few minutes apart.
obviously, these twins are the same generation as each other.

At around 4 minutes into the September 2015 video Splane said "For the man and the baby to be part of Josephs generation they would have had to have lived at least some time during Joseph's lifespan."
An easy way to debunk the Josepeh idea is to read Genesis 50: 22-23:
22 And Joseph continued to dwell in Egypt, he and the household of his father, and Joseph lived for 110 years. 23 Joseph saw the third generation of Eʹphra·im’s sons,+ also the sons of Maʹchir,+ Ma·nasʹseh’s son. They were born upon Joseph’s knees.
Ephraim was Joseph's son by his wife Asenath.
So Joseph lived for how long? 110 years.
And he saw how many generations in that time? He saw the third generation of Emphriam's sons but you could therefore say he saw 4 (including Emphraim).
Deary me David, Don't ya just hate it when the Bible doesn't support your crap?

TV.JW.ORG (September 2015) - Generation explained again
by Designer Stubble inguess the overlapping generation concept is difficult for most to comprehend.
david spane does his best to explain it again.
the cutoff date for this generation has now moved to 1992 (was once 1935), the year that fred franz died.

"We are not living today among theocratic nations where such members of our fleshly family relationship could be exterminated for apostasy from God and his theocratic organization . . . "Being limited by the laws of the worldly nation in which we live and also by the laws of God through Jesus Christ, we can take action against apostates only to a certain extent, that is, consistent with both sets of laws. The law of the land and God's law through Christ forbid us to kill apostates . . ."

Was anyone at the London Excel RC on Friday?
Apparently there was an apostate that got up on the stage. I'm told that the speaker quickly asked everyone to grab their songbooks and start singing.
The idea of 6,000 people grabbing songbooks and singing from whatever page they come across is just hilarious.
Can anyone confirm this insanity?

What kind of errors in the Bible?
by TheWonderofYou inthe new testament specialist daniel wallace notes that although there are about 300,000 individual variations of the text of the new testament, this number is very misleading.
most of the differences are completely inconsequential--spelling errors, inverted phrases and the like.
a side by side comparison between the two main text families (the majority text and the modern critical text) shows agreement a full 98% of the time.[18].

Simply put, if we reject the authenticity of the New Testament on textual grounds we'd have to reject every ancient work of antiquity and declare null and void every piece of historical information from written sources prior to the beginning of the second millennium A.D.
But the Bible makes the supernatural claim to be the Word of God. Thus your comparing to other works of antiquity makes no sense.
If translators have to chose which copy of scripture to use when translating the Bible (which they do) you have to ask for evidence that God has guided them to chose the correct copy (and indeed that copy was what He wanted recorded for all time).
No evidence? Then how can you be 100% what you read is from God?
