Perhaps the French would have supported the US in a legitimate cause.

3. tammy wynette (stand by your man was a song that'll always remind me of my grandad who died 10 years ago, always makes me smile and remember him, and her collaboration with the klf circa 1992. justified and ancient.

Is the baby being thrown out with the bath water?
by Chap inif god spoke to a man and told him to write down what he said, how are we to distinguish this writing from other people who say god spoke to them?
we know the human beings can lie about anything for any reason.
if a writing supposedly contains prophesy, some say it wasn't prophesy and was written after the fact.

Folks are wise to require convincing evidence of a claim before believing it. Your argument seems to be that the course of wisdom is to believe an unproven claim until it is debunked. Strange.
By the way, I'm selling the Golden Gate Bridge for $1000. Interested? Think of all the money you could make by turning it into a toll bridge.

Is everyone bitter against JW's?
by Redneckgurl ini have to post this question, because as i was trying so hard to talk to my husband about what i am learning and what others are saying, he is saying i am not doing this objectively at all, and only hearing things from bitter exjw's who are angry at the org for something.
i say this isn't true, i wasn't searching for answers due to a negative occurance in my life, and i don't believe everyone here was either.
he says i am only emotional about this, and trying to find reasons to prove all the things i have learned as wrong.

Hi, Redneckgurl! Love that name.
I'm not bitter or angry. But then, I'm not shunned by my loved ones, and haven't lost any of them to death by refusal of vaccinations or blood transfusions, either. I expect I would be bitter and angry if either of those conditions were so.
Nope, not emotional about it. Just, I recognize the truth of the situation regarding that religion. Acknowledging and accepting the facts is not an emotional action; it's a logical one.
They are liars and scam artists, as can be demonstrated over and over from their own contradictory and self-condemning literature. I'm no more angry at them than I am angry at the annual ragtag Kroger parking lot carnival shyster who has the rigged Midway game where you try to knock over a stack of three milk bottles with a baseball, unaware that one of them has a heavy lead base.
I recognize him for what he is. I don't give him my money or listen to his promises and luring speech. But I'm not angry with him.

This is an honest question
by berylblue inafter perusing the various "freedom of speech" threads, i noted that anti-semitism is prohibited here, as (i imagine, by logical extension) would be anti-black, anti-latino, etc.
statements.
as well these things should be.

I imagine it's a matter of walking the thin line between anti-[whatever] and having a mature discussion about the behavior, motives and goals of [whatever]. Anti-[whatever] rhetoric is easily distinguished from mature discussion.

Get to know Tom, Francois. He and folks with his views walk amongst us, and we might as well know them.
Tom misinterpreted a post I made about four years ago, and has held an active grudge against me over it ever since, in spite of my attempts at reconciliation. It's a "Terms of Endearment" situation (watch the movie again if you don't understand the reference).
He means well, bless his heart.

All my cats have been named "Cat". All my dogs have been named "Dog", or in the case of the dachshunds, "Puppo-dog". Sometimes the cats' personalities have earned them the expansion "GatoCat".

What Next? Syria?
by Robdar in... i would say that we have seen chemical weapons tests in syria over the past 12, 15 months, rumsfeld said, without giving details.
we have intelligence that shows that syria has allowed syrians and others to come across the border into iraq, people armed and people carrying leaflets indicating that theyll be rewarded if they kill americans and members of the coalition.. syria has long been on a u.s. list of states suspected of supporting terrorism...... you can find more here:.

Just look her right in the eyes, oozing sexuality, and ask, "Hey... you don't have any diseases I could catch, do ya?"
