Is this common? I didn't even know that they made announcments like this... to announce that someone is no longer a regular pioneer. How often does that happen?

by stillAwitness in3 sisters were announced as such at this past meeting (2 of which have a family member who was recently d'f but the third had been pioneering for as long as anyone can remember)
coincidence?
or possibly they were caught in some freaky-deaky 3 way love fest?

JW Pseudo-Vegetarians

" they decided it was wrong to eat jehovah's animals, and plus, they said it was "healthier" anyway.
i found this to be pretty ridiculous for a few reasons.. one, they were not really vegetarians.

We don't talk to them anymore, but a couple of years ago when we did, my boyfriend's JW mom and sisters all of a sudden decided that they were "vegetarians." They decided it was wrong to eat Jehovah's animals, and plus, they said it was "healthier" anyway. I found this to be pretty ridiculous for a few reasons.
One, they were not REALLY vegetarians. After the mom had told us about 50 times that she was a vegetarian, we SAW her eating chicken numerous times and a hamburger once. And no, it wasn't a veggie burger, a boca burger, whatever... it was definitely beef. So really, they ate meat anyway... so what is the obsession with them telling everyone they are vegetarians?
Two, they couldn't POSSIBLY be concerned about their health... no offense, but they were kind of overweight, and kept eating all this other junk food they ate constantly, anyway. They ate tons of ice cream and brownies and chips and greasy pizza and cookies all of the time, anyway. So how were they concerned about keeping their bodies healthy for Jehovah? (By the way, I agree that eating red meat is nasty for you, but contrary to what they tried to believe, eating some meats, like chicken if it is prepared certain ways and ESPECIALLY certain kinds of fish, is excellent for your health in numerous ways.)
Three, one of the sisters worked at ARBY'S. That's right, ARBY'S. She couldn't have been too concerned for Jehovah's animals if she was slapping roast beef on pieces of bread and serving it up to whomever came along.
Four, for some reason, they were obsessed with mentioning that they were "vegetarians" (which they weren't, of course, but claimed to be). For some reason, this got brought up in EVERY conversation I had with them. They (especially the mom) could find some way to bring it up or relate it to ANYTHING we were talking about. We could be talking about sneakers, a table, cleaning the house, airplanes, China, WHATEVER, and they found a way to bring up the fact that they were "vegetarians."
Obviously it doesn't really matter to me or affect my life in any way... they can eat whatever they want, pretend to be vegetarians or whatever else they want. They could pretend to be medieval lords and ladies for all I care. I am just wondering... is this a common thing among JWs? Anyone else have this experience with JWs either being vegetarians or pretending to be, bringing it up every 2 seconds, etc? Does this make them feel more spiritual or something?

What's that JW doing on the evil Internet, anyway? Prowling apostate websites? I don't think any of them follow their own rules, do you?
Well, good for them... maybe they'll find something that will help them actually THINK someday.
I do agree, however, that their poor spelling could be because English is not their first language. However, I also think that the overwhelming majority of JW posters on here have pathetic spelling and grammar... why is that? They are either all non-English speakers, all dumb, or all the same person.

Carla... you're right. That reminds me! When the Jacksons were little and the Jackson Five existed, they made a CHRISTMAS album! A CHRISTMAS ALBUM. I mean, I don't know how many times I have heard little Michael and the rest of them singing "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" or "Santa Claus is Coming To Town" in the stores during the month of December. Yet they ALL still claimed to be hard-core JWs at this point. I mean, they were just kids, and the mom (Katherine) claims to have really had them living a devout JW life.
I guess they are just like the typical JW... they liked money and wanted it and were willing to sacrifice their "beliefs" to get it. I know some JWs who would take government jobs for the county or town if they could get them, even though they supposedly don't like the government... or JWs who would do paint jobs on "worldly" churches and stuff. Wave some dollars in front of their faces and all of a sudden it's "Jehovah who?" Yet they don't get disfellowshipped for it. Amazing.

I think a lot of Brits do have bad teeth... but they can get them fixed, just like anyone else can, and have perfectly sexy teeth. Hey, mine were bad before I had braces, too. Not dirty or gross, obviously... just crooked.
BY THE WAY... southern accents on SOME men are hot. For instance, if the man is hot... the accent is hot. Did anyone watch Survivor last season or the season before? BOBBY JON DRINKARD ON THAT SHOW IS PROBABLY THE HOTTEST MAN I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. And he's from Alabama... ordinarily, that would be a turnoff for me... being a very a Northeastern kind of girl and finding the southern lifestyle a little... different. Not necessarily bad... just... not for me. But MAN... this Bobby Jon guy has to be sexier than ANYONE I have ever seen. And I am not kidding. Hands down, the best looking man I've ever seen in my life.

not posting so much lately
by ballistic ini haven't been posting so much recently, but it's not because i've had enough of you all.
actually it's for a good reason.. my firm enrolled me on a home study course in a field similar to my current career but slightly more advanced.. ironically, several weeks after me enrolling on the course, they announced my department is being outsourced to india and we are all to loose our jobs at the end of march.. strangely enough, i'm not too worried about that, it's happened to me 3 times before with the same firm and i always found something else.
in fact, i might not even bother.

DOES ANYONE GET HOW THESE STARS CAN ACT SO WEIRD AND STILL GET AWAY WITH CALLING THEMSELVES JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES?
I mean... come on. Does the Watchtower even take them seriously? I think not. They are probably embarassed of them and consider them a liability. I mean, how can Venus and Serena Williams say they are still JWs when they have so much money and are so successful (looked down upon by the Watchtower, obviously) and with the clothes they wear and everything. I mean, they sit around on Oprah talking about men and fashion, dressed in scant clothes with their boobs hanging out, and they are supposed to be Jehovah's Witnesses? The same kind of stuff goes for Prince, and the Jacksons... I mean, that Rebe (sp?) Jackson sister of Michael's STILL considers herself a JW... and she has posed for all these seductive photos and stuff. And how did Michael get away with all that bizarre behavior and still call himself a JW for so long? I don't get it. The Watchtower must just pretty much try to ignore them as much as possible. I think they are kind of like fringe JWs that no one really bothers with, like my boyfriend's parents. They break all the rules COMPLETELY and BLATANTLY in front of everyone, yet no one confronts them about it. Anyone else find this at all confusing, especially when JWs are normally so rigid and militant?
Does the Watchtower just ignore them? I wonder if they have ever considered asking people like this to stop calling themselves JWs. Why doesn't someone "disfellowship" them? And why would these stars, like the Williams sisters, even WANT to be associated with that? It's quite obvious that Venus and Serena are spending their time making money and having their own (scanty) clothing lines and playing (oh, no!) sports... so it's also quite obvious they are not spending their time door-knocking or going to book studies. So what is with that?
Sorry this got off topic... but it reminded me of it!

I'm glad you're going to college... who cares what they think?
This is going to sound mean... but sometimes I hope that the JWs I don't like don't ever go to college and make anything of themselves. That's really harsh and bitter of me, huh? I hope I stop feeling that way someday... but right now, I figure, they ruin so many other people's lives, they might as well have miserable ones. I hope they clean rugs forever!
Again, hopefully someday I'll stop this. It's not good to be bitter.
