  Prince, Sheila E. & Associates

  i saw the summer concert series this morning on good morning america with prince, sheila e. ,tamar, etc.

  and wondered what must go on behind the scenes.

  i know prince is not much of a talker so i'm not sure if he even has much conversation with the musicians that work with him or not, but i know sheila e. is involved in evangelical christian ministries, his past sidekicks chaka khan, and doug e. fresh are scientologists, not sure of tamar's currents beliefs but know she sang backup for christian gospel singer yolanda adams.

  Someone said earlier that Prince is "not much of a talker." No kidding! He is probably one of the rudest people I can imagine. When all of the famous performers and stuff were performing on the American Idol finale, they would usually all stand around and wave to the fans and shake hands with Ryan Seacrest and put their arm around him while he did the fade to commercial... but Prince NEVER does stuff like that. As soon as his last song is over, he immediately turns around and walks right off the stage. It's so stupid that it's almost funny. He just promptly leaves. It's like he thinks that he did his song and now he doesn't want to stay around any longer cause that's just too boring for him. He did that on the GMA concert series thing, too, and he does it all of the time!

  I don't think any JWs REALLY consider him to be a JW except maybe a select few... most would probably be horrified by him, and I am sure plenty don't even know who he is or that he associates himself with the Watchtower. And he's always espousing a million different things, he's confused as anything and doesn't know what he believes, either.

  WTS getting desperate, Notes from CO talk

  here are my wife's notes from the co talk this past tuesday.. 1c christians preached despite demonic activity (acts 4:1,2).

  acts 4:18-20 shows they continued b/c they had god's spirit.

  acts 5 all the apostles were imprisoned and about to be put to death, but were beaten & released instead.

  I think I did something very "sick" and embarassing

  okay... so i am super embarassed once again.

  this time what happened is too embarassing to share, i think.

  most people would probably tell me i am gross, too, and most of you would probably not even want to hear it so i guess that i am better off not sharing it here.

  Awww, thanks, everyone. It does make me feel better to hear that everyone's experienced embarassing things, too. Thanks for your support (and for the welcome to the club).

  I don't know if any of you have ever done anything THIS embarassing (though I hope someone has... not because I want them to be embarassed, but I want them to have done it and think it's no big deal so that I don't think it's a big deal, either!) It's pretty humiliating. I will NOT be sharing it, because I don't want to be considered offensive, and I don't want to gross anyone out, but let's just say that it's very bad because it involves a substance that comes out of the body... although I am not going to indicate which substance or what area of the body it comes out of. It's bad, though. I mean, does it get any worse than something that comes out of one's own body? I don't think so!

  catholic funeral today

  my dear sister in law died last week age 39 leaving 3 kids (16, 12 and 5).

  we're very close and the youngest kids are staying with us, off and on, for a while.

  got to know the catholic priest who has been wonderful and made all the difference to helping her accept what was happening.

  Coincidence? August Awake! - BLOOD - Why So Valuable?

  is it any coincidence that the society have made the main article in the august 2006 awake!

  about blood?.

  what with shunned father's lawsuit, and kerry's article on the misrepresentation of blood by the watchtower, it strikes me as too convenient for wts to have a whole article on blood.. a quick summary.

  Ugh, I feel so angry when I hear about this! It's so ridiculous. Obviously, I WANT them to change their blood policy. There is no reason for any more innocent children (or adults) to die needlessly over this crap.

  But still... I guess I would just be so mad if they changed their minds and told the dubs it's up to their "conscience" now, too. Either way, I am mad. I cannot help but think about the people that died needlessly... the people that were shunned for having blood transfusions... the family and friends of those who have already died. What then? That will be so entirely devestating for them if that ever happens.

  They are probably just trying to gradually slip it in there as being up to your personal "conscience," like some of you said. They're trying to adjust the rank and file to the idea little by little. If they do it slowly and subtly, it's easier to brainwash the people into thinking it was their "choice" all along. I doubt they'd ever come out with a big article about the "new light," they'd just slip it in there real casually like it's no big deal and that's pretty much how it's been all along. And then the rank and file will be brainwashed into believing that, as well, and anyone who remembers otherwise will just have to turn off their brains and convince themselves that their own memories are faulty. And that makes me really MAD!

I just got back to my house and no one here is awake anymore and there's no one I can talk to! lol So I am just sharing it on here for no particular reason.

  ... But really! It's REALLY bad. But the thing is, I am not even entirely sure if it really happened or not... but I am pretty sure that it did. It's hard to explain and you wouldn't want me to, anyway, probably.

  Does anyone else have any embarassing moments to share that would make me feel better? Some that would even be considered "gross?" Did you ever just get so embarassed that you felt desperate, like you didn't know what to do... like you started thinking to yourself "HOW CAN I GO ON?" That's how I feel right now!

  gary, I was thinking more along the lines of running for office or something. I thought he was asking if there were any actual JW politicians holding offices that one has to be elected into.

  But yes, as you pointed out, as far as all that stuff goes, it's obvious that they are not as "politically neutral" as they'd like everyone to think.

  AuldSoul... you are very good! He was taken to the JW meetings from the time he was about 1 or 2 (1983 or 1984)... and then he was active in it till I would say about 6 or 7 years ago. During those 6 or 7 years, he would casually, sporadically go to the meetings, but generally only the Watchtower studies on Sunday mornings, until about 3 years ago when he stopped going to anything altogether. You're very good, AuldSoul. :)

  He probably remembers the Revelation book particularly well because he was just a child when he was being dragged to the book study meetings when they were studying it... and from what I have heard, that book sure makes an impression on little kids! Plus, when you're a child, everything seems very long and dragged out when you're bored, so it's no wonder he feels like he's been through the book about 500 times, huh?

  Is this Revelation book one that I could obtain by casually walking into a Kingdom Hall and asking for it, or would they not give it to me? Is it out of print and no longer in the libraries or what? Would I have to pay, like, a quarter for it on ebay instead? I really want to give it a look sometime.

  By the way... I was talking to my ex-boyfriend last night and I said to him "Guess what book the JWs are studying after the 'Teach Book.'" And he goes "Let me guess, the Revelation book?" And I am like "Did you know? Did you go online and find out somehow?" And he said "No, it's only because they studied that one like 500 times when I was a Jehovah's Witness." So he apparently wasn't surprised by it at all.
