sorry to pose this question if it is here on the board somewhere.
i have been sifting for hours and even though i've found lots of great information, i can't find what i am looking for.. motivated by the hurricane tragedies, i decided to become a red cross volunteer on a local level.
i had my first training on saturday and came away feeling very good about my decision.
To be on the safe side, the non-JW spouse should have a healthcare proxy in place that says that they want a blood transfusion and then their JW spouse could authorize in accordance with their wishes.
Is this something one would carry like the JW blood card?

if the patient (non-JW) authorized blood a JW could administer it because it was the patient's decision, but that is not the case now
Question Blondie.....could a JW spouse authorize blood use for an un-believing (aka apostate) mate?

I guess you could ask a dozen different JW's and get a dozen answers. Or for that matter, check a dozen publications and come up with as many answers....always making it a conscious matter, of course.
ok there are so many americans on the map now i had to split you all in half.. valis was kind enough to let me place the maps on his website until i found a new home for them.. photobucket seems to be a good option - at least for now.
so i have uploaded the new maps which have been updated to include everyone who has asked.. so if you were wondering where we are from.
or how close you are to other jwd posters in your area just take a look.
Woohoo! On the map....thanks!
Ah, the thing I learned best as a JW.....Cheers!
so the elders, in all their spirit appointed glory, decided to give a talk.. sadly, i'm too lazy to fill it with apostate and atheistic undertones.
so i just did a straight out, boring ass talk.
and i know you all wish you could be there to see me, but since you can't, i'll put up a transcript of my talk.
Boy, don't I miss those enlightening meeting parts!

i desperately miss my relationship with my mother.
this is not from a space of momma's boyism.
this is from a space of missing a good friend.
Good luck to you, my friend. I would like to think my kids would have done the same for me. We all know what the results are when we don't try.
so, after many countries and voyages...what have i learned?.
the more i learn, the less i know.. where to begin?.
there is this elusive thought, a star in which i can touch with my fingertips but just can grasp it, evertime my process of understanding of a situation unfolds...it disappears into a sea of apathy.. there is a common link with all humanity.
Wow, what a great post. I'm sure we can all remember being told that people are in certain religions because it 'tickles their ears'. My conclusion is that once given incriminating information and a JW continues stubbornly to hold on, it is because it is what they want. It is so indoctrinated into the JW psyche to reject any form of doubt. I am cautioned by well-meaning persons all the time to try to save my husband from the borg but you know what....he claims to have even looked at the websites and information I've given him and takes pity on ME for being misled. Hopeless? IMHO, yes.
