  607, Jerusalem completely subjected or destroyed? Which is it? New light?

  according to the authorized site of the office of public information of jehovah's witnesses www.jw-media.org, beginning in 607 b.c.e., jerusalem was completely subjected to the rule of gentile world powers.

  does this indicate that wts is getting away from insisting that jerusalem .

  was destroyed in 607, as we know it was not, but rather that it came under the thumb of babylon and marked an end to true rule of a king in the line of david?

  while on a lecture tour of the midwestern and southern parts of the us, 89 years ago, charles taze russell died on a train in pampa,texas, at the age of 64 (picture of him in 1916 below).. .

  i am primarily posting this to barbara anderson, but obviously everyone is welcome to correct or comment on my remarks as they see fit.

  mrs. anderson, i realize that trying to cover all bases in your pending russell bio would be impossible, but i do hope that you will be able to include a section on the first president of the watch tower society, william h. conley.

  i hope that you have had a chance to research conley with some degree of thoroughness, so as to dispel some of the half-truths that some bible students and jws try to promote (such as that conley's age and health caused his inactivity with russell after 1881).

  Herbert Armstrong/WWCOG ??

  tonight while at a restaurant discussing jw topics my mom told me that herbert armstrong was on the wt society board of directors years ago and that he ended up leaving over doctrinal issues, and was subsequently branded an apostate by the wt society, and after this he founded the worldwide church of god.

  can anybody else verify this?

  it does seem believable since a majority of the wwcog doctrines mirror those of the wt society.

  "Little Flock" as meant in 1881 by Rusell?

  can someone please help me with some old literature references about what exactly the society (russell) meant when he referred to the little flock in the early 1880s.. from my memory they thought that there would be two classes, the little flock, who spearheaded and performed the preaching work; and the bigger flock, who may have been in christendom's churches but had right hearts.

  both flocks were going to heaven but the little flock would be co-rulers with jesus..

  any quotes to back that up, or that show it's wrong??

  Rutherford's wife, why the info blackout?

  rutherford ruled the watchtower organization from 1916 to 1942, traveled extensively, had several residences, most notably, beth sarim.

  but absent always was his wife, mary, not to mention his son, malcolm as well.. ok, rutherford was so well known, why did no one inquire about his son and wife?.

  when rutherford resided at beth sarim in san diego, why was his wife not there with him?

  in the thread about whether charles russell was gay or not, a topic was brought up that i believe deserves a new thread.

  as card-carrying apostates we all need to be careful about our information.

  even one mistake, whether intentional or not, gives dubs the chance to jump up and say, "see those apostates lied about that thing.

  having been an actor of this debate, it seemed to me convenient of summary my ideas in writing to take advantage of it the readers of this site.. .

  russell took his ideas from the american second adventism.
