Have to come a post more, so I won't be a "newbie." Told a friend who is DFed a little bit of info on the blood and NGO/UN deal. He was unmoved, and it kind of disturbed me. I didn't want to come off as apostate to him, but I definitely had to see if he even had a clue.

Another experience story about leaving the society

my mother had told the woman her story about studying in the 70's and that she believed the dubs were on to something but just didn't really care.

I don't know what the board's policy is on "resurrecting" old threads, but here goes.
This caught my interest, because it reminds me of my first "evil" thoughts as a JW. I noticed that only certain things were outlawed.
I could see many inconsistencies, but I did not bother to dig deeper as to the Society's rationale, or whatever.
Fast forward a few years, and I see more of what everyone here has seen: hypocrisy, unloving attitudes, Pharisees-In-Training, etc.
Just a thought.

Question regarding my nephew
by caz ini'm the aunty of 3 the boys i wrote about a few weeks ago who had lost their jw father to suicide.
my (16 year old) nephew has come to live with me and he has been brought up as a jw all of his life, although not baptised yet.
he hasn't made one mention of them or meetings at all since his father's death, ( 4 weeks ago) other than to tell me he was very disappointed in the lack of support shown his dad by the elders of his congregation during his lowest moments of depression and to the boys since.

cordelias first ever birthday!

18th november i will be the big 30 (and i look about 11!).
i really wanted tobe completely open and celebrate it properly i never dreamt i'd be still in the position of living a double life and hiding my true feelings from my family (see my other thread).
