  My non JW hubby just got a call from an elder!!!!!!

  mike just rang me to say that one of my old elders was chasing me up.. bit of background information my brother and his now wife both baptized fell pregnant before they got married, her mum also a jw paid for an abortion!!!!!

  anyway my sister in law told me all about it.

  i too told a few people i know not wanting to get them into trouble but i guess i didnt want people to think i was the only bad sheep in the family, anyway this was over 2 years ago.. someone that i told has just recently mentioned it to the elders after two years and now they are chasing me up to see if the rumour is true.. mike told him to mind his own business and dont expect for me to call them back.

  Here's a good scenario:
  
  
  To "asshole brother" (line from "Everything Zen" by Bush): Let him know by letter or short phone call that you could have provided info on his sin, but you chose not to because , and even though he does not deserve this based on past behavior .
  
  To parents: Relate above to them. They will fill in the blanks with their own guilt.

  hello ex-elders, onthe wayout, snakes, and wilyloman, just to refresh about a month ago i told you all that the appeal committee had overturned the disfellowshipping decision by the original jc as the appeal committee got a hold of me by phone and told me the society gave them direction in this.

  i have since explained the situation to my witness mom and dad, 80 &82, they are good with it.

  i am taking copies of the counsel you ex elders gave to me to be careful about what i say at this "alleged encouragement" meeting and promise you this, i'll watch my words carefully when they ask me questions.

  I have a hard time picking favorites in anything. I just like to see/do/listen/eat some things more than others.
  
  I was on another forum and took 4 MP3 CDs off of my stack, and listed the contents:
  
  Albert King, Mofro, some miscellaneous world music, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Gang Starr, Gap Band, Gerry Mulligan, Jack Johnson, Jill Scott, Jaco Pastorius, James Brown, James Taylor, Jimmy Buffett
  
  
  I will do another random sample of the next three CDs:
  
  Miscellaneous jazz and fusion songs, including Charlie Hunter, Dennis Chambers, Lionel Hampton, Jeff Beck, Jeff Berlin, Michael Manring (met him!), and Harry Connick, Jr.
  
  Miscellaneous hip hop/urban from the early 80s to mid-2000s
  
  16 number one singles from each of the years 1970-79
  
  Marcus Miller, Miles Davis, Phish
  
  
  If someone held a gun to my head, many of the classic rock albums some of you listed would be on my list.
