All indications are, God is not interfering with what disasters happen here on Earth. Don't forget, when God is ready, his son will resurrect the dead. I personally do not like to see suffering for humans or animals and don't understand it. So I have no answer for hardship and pain.

Natural disasters- Does permission equal causation?
by nvrgnbk infor believers:.
does an omniscient god's permission of the loss of human life due to natural disasters imply some sort of negligence?.
if god possesses the power to prevent suffering, but chooses not to, what reasonable explanation can be offered?

"Why does America always bomb other countries?", my son asked tonight.
by digderidoo infirst of all i do not want to turn this into an american bashing thread, that is not my intention at all.. i would like to hear americans opinions as to what my thirteen year old son asked me tonight.. on the way back from swimming tonight my two sons (13 and 11) and myself started talking about wars.
my 11 year old was the first to bring it up talking about wwi & ww2.
we had an interesting conversation about it, then the subject got onto nuclear bombs.

DIG, I just felt you could have given your son and answer of some kind...,,I can't read all of the thread or I would be here to half a day. As you can see you have many comments for this thread. Most Americans are independent thinkers. How Bush ever got elected for second term, I will never understand. I am using Mozilla so I cannot make paragraphs. I fear Obama will turn my country into a cowardly Lion and let the radicals take over while he does nothing, I see Obama as a weak leader.. If that happens then the American people will have to stand up and fight in the streets like "Beruit" is doing today. That's not what I want for my country. Yes, I want our soldiers to come home and the Iraqi people to learn to defend their own country but they have religious issues that need to be worked out so they can work together instead of against each other. Freedom of religion is not their cup of tea. If the terrorist want Americans to leave Iraq then they should leave the Iraqi people alone. Yes I know, we should have left Saddam alone but it's to late now.

Did anyone mention that DIG needs a history lesson so he can answer his boys when they ask him a question about another country...It's always good to pay attention in history class so your basic answer will not be /I DON"T KNOW/ or at least he/she can give an educated guess.

I think the USA should have let the Nazie's win WWTwo and Japan continue to conquer Asia and China. Then your son might be asking "Why is my Dad dead" "Why wasn't I born" "What is Freedom"

IF gas prices go to $10, and these major disasters continue......
by AK - Jeff in....like the one in myanmar now, will we not see the apocalyptic religions just explode in growth, including jw's?
even during relatively calm times, these groups can stir the 'sheep' to believe that the tribulation is just around the corner.
if we continue to see major disasters, what effect do you see in these groups?.

jaguarbass::I am 55, I remember My mother was born in the city of Atlanta in a clapboard shack no water or electricity, chickens and roosters running through the yard. she told me she was so poor she ate dirt. I saw her brothers and sisters eat mustard and ketchup sandwiches. I saw that shack when I was growing up.:::::::::::;;;;;;;;;; Same here...I can remember coal oil lamps burning in my grandmother's two room clapboard house and taking the path to the outhouse. I never heard of an indoor toilet until my dad got a new job and we moved to the city when I was 6 years of age. Then I had to wear shoes to school. That's the truth.

I was told by a Pentecostal Lady last year that the Rapture was going to happen this month close to the 60th year celebration of Israel. Do you believe that!

They are in a hurry to build new KHs when they should be helping to give shelter to the JWs who lost homes, unless they open the doors of the new KHs for shelter and food until they can get on good footing.

What will you do when the Great Tribulation Begins?
by Malkiel ini've always wanted to ask this question to those that have decided to leave the organization.. what will you do when the great tribulation begins?.
right now folks, a lot is happening in the political world.. gordon brown (prime miniter of england) last week gave a speech to the un stating that it is time for the un to step in and solve the world's problems, (specifically mentioning the economy and hunger crisis worldwide.).
barrack obama is shaping up to be the next president, a fellow who sure knows how to persuade and lead great crowds.

Actually winnower, No need to feel blood guilty, I was questioning whether Malkiel was a JW at all because of a statement he made in his first post. As far as I know the Watchtower does not teach this:::::::::::::: ""If you look carefully, Freemasonry (sun worshipping) has laid the foundation to begin executing their 'secret' plan to give life to the UN, it in turn substitute all currency with one, and finally substitute all religions with the Craft (or Freemasonry). This fulfillment clearly follows the scriptural prophecy.""
