I think they, the GB meant well and now they are trapped and don't know the way out. Some might really believe they are right in all things Godly though.

I would guess that if your family wanted to get together at your house and have a meal on Thanksgiving day....there would be nothing wrong with it....same excuse as the witnesses give for having service on Sunday....Most people don't work on Sunday.....On Thanksgiving the family from out of town has time to travel and visit you. Same goes for Xmas...the family has more time to gather.

When you were an active witness..........
by gringojj indid you ever feel bad for your kids that they couldnt celebrate holidays, birthdays, salute the flag, etc.
i am sure looking back now it must hurt somewhat and maybe you feel bad, but did you ever feel bad when you believd it was the true religion?

When I was a witness and believed.....I never thought I was missing out on anything....My kids never went without fun or presents even though we didn't celebrate holidays. We had our family outings and vacations. We kinda felt free of those trappings everyone else had. So even today I still do not celebrate Xmas and and other holidays. AND I feel free and quite content.

I couldn't have a one on one...I am not knowledgeable enough. I told my son who is a JW that I was DA and the reason why....and of course he said I was under the influence of Satan. I directed him to slilentlambs and he said he researched that two years ago and they are liars. So I told him of my personal experience of how a brother fleeced the KH in my opinion from my observation. How the WTS is fleecing all the brothers and sisters etc. He said how do you think they give us all the free books and mags and tools to use for preaching the good news..and how can I spew out lies like that. He is blind. What can I say!

Bad art work like that in the publications had an infulence on my thinking even today. When Katrina hit and the Dam broke in New O'rleans, I saw all those people without food and water in the awful heat...also I am pet owner and couldn't stand to see all the animals suffer to...I felt like it was the great tribulation...My prayer that day was : Please Jehovah I don't want to see people suffer like that. Can you skip the great tribulation and Armeggden and let us all live without the suffering. Just show us the loving God that you are and you will have the worship of so many during the thousand years of the resurection time.
I thought later, Who am I to tell God what to do! Still I can't look at people suffer in the disasters on the news. I took solice in seeing pets and people being rescued.

did you ever go to the service group and be assigned to the different car groups.....and then....the sister that is assigned to go with you...decline and say...'i am just going by myself today and do my return vistits by myself'..... damn, i should have complained about that one!
