  What is orthodox Christianity?

  we frequently contrast what jehovah's witnesses believe with orthodox christianity (or what they call "christendom").

  but what does orthodox christianity look like if allowed to stand on its own, not defending itself from outside attack?

  the archbishop of canterbury (rowan williams) recently gave his own description to a group of non-christians - his audience being at the islamic university in islamabad.

  You asked what Orthodox Christianity is. I gave you the actual historical answer, rather than a subjective answer based on my personal doctrinal preferences, my personal opinion of what is "Orthodox." Such opinions are like ***holes, everyone has them and they're only usful to the person that expressed them.

  I didn't ask you that question about Orthodox Christianity...someone else did.

  But in reading you answer to that person, I got the jest that you didn't believe in the inspired writtings of the Apostles.

  When I was about 7 years old I begin to question my parents about Santa...They insisted he was real and lived in the North Pole. I still didn't believe them. My Hubby on the other hand was disapointed to find out there was no Santa at the early age of 14. He said he went off and cried. It was like Santa had died.

  when was the last time that the watchtower society wrote anything substanial or had a substanial watchtower study announcing jehovah's kingdom?

  the title is on every cover of the magazine.

  usually in passing they will have a lead-in article that tells everyone that god will soon replace this wicked system of things, however, am i right that it's been a long long time since we have seen an in-depth study article explaining jehovah's kingdom.. it seems that all the recent study articles lately have been to spank the rank and file, also the elders and to warn about apostates.. besides the small lead-in articles, where is the public getting information announcing jehovah's kingdom?

  i was thinking today about the issue of jesus' deity (or lack thereof), according to the wts.

  they say that jehovah is god, jesus is not the same as jehovah, but that jesus is a god.

  doesn't that make jws polytheists?

  I said find me one IRREFUTABLE UNAMBIGUOUS UNDENIABLE CLEAR THING. Matthew 1:23 and Hebrews 1:8 do NOT qualify as "unambiguous and irrefutable". you may THINK that they do, buddy, but they don't. cuz then you don't know what is really meant by "unambiguous and irrefutable and clear". I'm talking about a thing where it's so grammatically clear and obvious that anybody could see it beyond exception. like again, "Christ IS THE GOD. PERIOD." not nicknames like Immanuel.

  when i opened the door i was expecting the apartment maintance guy.

  instead there were two guys with watchtowers.

  one starts in on whatever his presentation was going to be and i stop him and say that i'm familiar with jehovah's witnesses, my wife has some witness relatives (true).

  If we want to see a truely faithful animal.....A DOG is your best bet if he is owned by you. My dogs follow me everywhere and wait patiently for me to come back when I leave for any length of time. They greet me as if I have been gone forever. Of course they greet all family members with happy tail wagging, but they treat me as someone special. It got me to thinking that this is the way Jesus and God wants us to be with him. To go to him wherever he goes. To wait for him until he comes home to us.
