I don’t know about you, but why would anyone want to risk their soul in such a way? True faith shouldn’t need proof anyway.
So, why does Hebrew count Gideon as an example of faith, despite he demanded proof 3x .... AND GOT IT!!!!

i was reading an article online, about the upcoming vatican ruling on a shrine in the balkins.
the shrine is built in a place where people say the virgin mary has been appearing, and people have been going there in the hundreds of thousands sort of like the lourdes thing.
after the article, which supposes that the pope will rule that this is all from satan and meant to lead people away from the church, there were comments from people regarding the phenomena, the expected ruling, etc.
I don’t know about you, but why would anyone want to risk their soul in such a way? True faith shouldn’t need proof anyway.
So, why does Hebrew count Gideon as an example of faith, despite he demanded proof 3x .... AND GOT IT!!!!

have you seen that in pittsburgh (where russell has lived) in 1906 (when russell was alive), a knigtht templar commandery has the same "symbol" that russell have in his cemetery ?
we have the point: russell was a freemason.
O? there ain't no bottom then?

he couldnt bring the olympics to chicago but he accomplished this coveted award after only a few months in office.
somebody out there sees this man as doing what the planet needs.
perhaps.. but i for one am not as shocked as most.
The reason for the award:
"For his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people”
WHAT? efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people? THIS is pack and parcel of any international sound politics. So were was the extraordinary effort?
DId I miss anything? How different is the world we live in since he took office? Which policies have effectively been reversed in order to EXTRAORDINARILY enhance diplomacy and cooperation?
Now let's see:
By February the NPP committee has a list of collected nominees. Now they start the short listing which will be finalized by August. In October the winner is announced.
SO .... who made the committee aware of the EXTRAORDINARY efforts of Obama to to earn him a nomination when he was just 1 month in office.
What then did he do in 1 month time that would eran him a nomination?

January 26: President Barack Obama's administration will engage in "direct diplomacy" with Iran, the newly installed U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said Monday.
Gents: this truly is EXTRAORDINARY. No one wants to sit at the table direclty with Ahmadinejad .... very very extraordinary.
One of the big questions of the Obama presidency is can he actually use his popularity to go over rulers’ heads and straight to their people. Obama ’s interview with Al Arbiya, a 24 hour Middle Eastern news channel, was an attempt to do just that.
Sure EXTRAORDINARY because no arab leader listens that good to his people. They are concerned with their own authocratic business dealings OR with the maintenance of a certain type of religious and/ or political establlishment.

The appointment of George Mitchell as a presidential special envoy was a good first step.
Yes, well .... quite extraordinary, indeed.
President Obama has said he will deliver a major speech in a Muslim country sometime during his first 100 days and that he plans to reach out to Muslims.
Again, words..... extraordinary, indeed.

February 23, 2009 WASHINGTON — The Obama administration intends to provide some $900 million to help rebuild Gaza after the Israeli incursion that ended last month, administration officials said Monday.
The articles says that the money is supposed to go through UN channels. ....
Yeah ... EXTRAORDINARY, indeed.
So... what is the real deal to be nominated a peace prize? And what happened to that much requested order for the hospital ship to go to Gaza as a sign of the outreach?
I'm sure I only sratched the surface with all those extraordinary efforts ....

if you work for a bureaucratic corporation, when you have a serious problem, such as an addiction, you generally don't go up to your employer and tell him about it first.
if it effects your work, you may go to the union representative.
you probably go to your doctor or minister or a friend to help you.
Willyloman,
I recently had the same discussion with an elder. I went into detail what constituted correct procedure, acceptable evidence, etc, etc and compared that to the average judicial committee and how they violate even the basic principles of justice. It was quite an unsettling discussion for him.
His response was that the JC was intended to bring an accused to repentance. To which I responded that the prime function of a JC is to keep the cong "clean". It's a political institute that is weighing public impact of private acts. So ,in case of Jesus Cano, there was no attempt at bringing him to repentance ... he was DF-ed in 24 hours to save public face.
So my question to him was: does Jehovah's organisation have lower moral values than the worldy courts?

how many of jehovah's israelites really saw the promised land?
only the two spies out of the original 3 million!
{joshua, caleb} moses, aaron, and the rest of the jews were killed off or left to die for their insolence and disobiedience!
Rubbisch .... The Exodus did not even occur as it is told.
But assuming for the sake of argument it did .... it means that the ONLY of the ORIGINAL generation were: Levites and those two spies AND some of those who were supposed to be of the "great crowd"of non Isrealite co-sojourners.

i still can't believe it.
she was here for the bbq, we had an awesome time, laughing, her telling stories from our childhoods.
i gave her a hug and told her i loved her before she left.
I'm very sorry for your loss, Bumblebee. An awful matter, indeed. My sympathies.

i dad 6 years ago because, after a rational search came to the conclusion that there probably is no god.
shortly afterwards, i concluded that (for me) there is no god, which made me feel that i really was a natural-born humanist - a position that i'm entirely comfortable with.
i know that many former jws hold a similar, atheistic viewpoint.
Me becoming an atheist was an unavoidable .... surrender to the obvious........

i have been posting on here this week, and all i can say is this has been the best form of therapy!
there are some amazing people on here, many who have been through the same thing, if not much worse.
there are so many of you that i would love to converse with, but understand why this format is for the best at this time.. i am in the early stages of breaking the chains that bind, and i need some suggestions on reasoning on these 2 points.
I think the difficulty here is that the JW use any scripture that seems to support their case to maximize output....Ofcourse synagoge has much to go with sunagogai ... the gathering of ourselfs together.
When you compare sunagogai the epi sunagogai one really has to wonder what epi sunagogai is. A normal religious gathering where Jesus would be in their midst was 2 or 3 in his name. That was a sunagogai. But epi? What could the wirter of Hebrew have meant. The other mentioning of epi sunagogai in the NT is when the christians meetup with Christ in heaven. I guess this qualifies for a christian to be the EPI-sunagogai of all times. The top most important gathering.
But Hebrew is talking about a practice in light of the end being very near ..... hmmm.... it sound as if these guys were gathering on a mountain in white robes to be carried away to heaven or something and criticized others for not going along in this foolish game.
However, I guess the question might be posed: what would a current JW perceive as the most important meeting? Certainly the WAtchtower study would not come into view. I guess most of them will probably say: the memorial/ last supper. And so ... by default you win with your hands down ....
But that does not mean they will not maintain you MUST be on the meetings in order to saved .....

doesn't wt claim that the first jws were 1st century christians?.
does that mean that this particular doomsday cult has existed for 2000 years?.
.
Yes ... and Abel was the first catholic, he was also a protestant but that did not help much.
