  Where else will you go?

  the po comes to see me and talks round the houses trying to find out what my problem is.. so i tell him "look its something i have to sort out for myself and i dont want to destroy your faith and make you start questioning so id rather not tell you".

  he already knew cos the first elder went to his house the second he left mine and told him about [what i thought was a private conversation between mates,] my issues.. so he proceeds to tell me a story of a brother he knows who was always very studious and knowledgable about all prophecies and the details of our beliefs.. well the guy suddenly stopped attending meetings last year, dont know why but the po seemed pretty upset about it as he was an old friend.. so he says " i said to him, but john, where will you go now on sunday afternoons,!

  and really wary where else will you go?".

  i have asked this question before and i was told by jw's that it is "inappropriate, apostate, beyond our thinking, stupid", etc, etc,.... can anyone atleast give half an answer to this question?.

  Why do you need a QFR to talk about a basic tenure of your faith that is perfectly explained elsewhere......like in "the bible really teach"- book......

  I would be interested in seeing a scan of the article: it's exact question and answer.....

  Atheists/Theists: What is the best argument FOR theism (a God's existence) you have heard?

  i have lived for the last 3 years with two phd philosophers as roomates, both in the last year of their dissertation at reputable institutions (notre dame, penn/uic respectively).

  they are both moderate semi-christian theists after having been fundamentalists as youths.

  i have a sceince and engineering background and am a naturalist atheist former jw.

  Hi Gladring, I concur with you here. chapter 11 in and of itself is quite contradictory. On of the more outstanding example of faith the writer of Hebrew touches on briefly is Gideon. I single him out here since he did something JW's are told not to: He tested God 3 times before being a man of faith. I would say that is almost as close to modern science as you can get with this.

  Yet, historically, we have only judges to go with. All else is hidden in mist. It could be an elaborate forgery or not. No way of knowing. The only thing I find interesting here is that since Gideons test.......it's been very silent.......maybe the triple test scared him of. But I do see the need for this entity called God to make some new efforts here.

  If he doens't than there are a few options here:

  1) he's not able to

  2) he doesn't want to

  3) he doens't exist.

  Well, actually the only arguement that would save a theist I guess would be to put the word yet behind point one or two.

  david splane is a member of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.. he became a full time minister in september 1963. a graduate of the 42nd class of gilead, the jehovah's witness missionary school, he served as a missionary in senegal, africa, then for 19 years as a travelling overseer in canada.

  he and his wife, linda, have been at bethel (jehovah's witness headquarters) in the united states since 1990, where he has worked in the service and writing departments.

  since 1998, he had been a helper to the writing committee.

  a web site called jehovah-witness.net where x-jw's and jw's who pretend to be jw's come to chat about how bad jehovah witnesses are and how they brain washed them etc, would it not be more productive to move on and forget than to let something most of you obviously hate take so much of your time and effort.. for some being a jw is about not being part of the world, what other religion is there that is as moral as a jw.

  i am d'fed but i belive that jw's are the true religion.

  sure some of them can be self righteous pricks but there imperfect just like anyone else,we all need to focus on us and not worry about what there doing because we can't change them.. .

  Bethel Speaker Calls GB "Ants" regarding generation teaching

  this video on youtube is pretty interesting.

  the part i'm referring to is right at minute 9, where he calls out the "ants printing the watchtower" and says they never should have been dealing with generation.

  so why do they keep talking about it?.

  I liked 09:57..........a delirious dream.............I'm sure those ants called the writer committee who approved publishing the generation change after it had been changed in the nineties are encouraged to keep silent now. I wonder if Ciro told them: this is a scripture Jehovah wants me to read out loud to ye........

  Noting discrepancies in Watchtower publications.

  here is a link that shows two pages out of the may 1, 1999 watchtower, pages 17 and 18.. http://www.geocities.com/thewatchtowerstudy/wt050199p17-18.htm.

  in looking at what is supposed to be the same wild beast, do you see a difference between the one shown on page 17 in comparison to the one shown on the following page?.

  the difference i see is that the heads of the beast in the first image are all lion's heads, whereas the heads in the second image are all leopard's heads (notice the spots).. be reminded that these images are in the same magazine.. something like this might seem to be of little significance to many people.

  Given the current movement on the antii defamtion of religion thing it seems quite the contrary...........the WT is making the UN stronger than they are now......
