my stereo is rending xmas music as i type this - a wonderful celtic version of "the christmas song".
snow is flying outside my window - and i am getting in the xmas mood already.
I am ALWAYS dreaming of a white Christmas....but I've never seen one at least that I remember. (We lived in Ohio when I was little and I know it snowed there)
We are debating a trip to New York City over the holidays so there's a chance we could see some whilte stuff up there....but my hub would rather go to Key West, where the only white stuff around will be the froth on the waves

I caught the end of Heroes last week and made a point to watch it this week. It didn't blow me away, but I do want to know what is going to happen. Next week looks like it will be pretty good.
The lady (I don't know the names well yet) with the alterego is freaky. Do we know why she set up her husband in the first place? Why she wanted the money? And if she had all the money during the time her hub was away, why didn't her evil self take it and run then?
I've got alot of questions...I did read all the back episodes on the website. There's still some stuff I don't get.
our son, who is married to a witness, has just announced that he can no longer take part in holiday celebrations of any kind.
he is slowly being sucked into this org., and we are heart sick about it.
from what we understand, he has to purge his life of all these "horrible" things (like birthday celebrations, etc.

Yes, keep it up on your end! If he's anything like I was he'll be pretty pissed that his parents won't respect his boundries. I was livid at first, but it calmed down after a while. I even spent some holidays, esp Thanksgiving, with some of my relatives because there was never any cut and dry law/rule denying that day. And I always made a point to call my mom and tell her to have a "good" day on her birthday, just to let her know I was thinking about her.
Tell him you miss him ALL THE TIME!!!!! and you love him too

Oh man, I'm soo sorry!! Sounds like what I did to my parents too. Just keep hanging in there, don't give up, my parents didn't. They kept sending me cards, presents, told me Happy "whatever" Day all the time.
The one that really got me to the point I cried was when I was 6 years in the org. My dad sent me a card for my birthday that said, I know you don't want to celebrate this anymore, but 27 years ago on this day it was a very special day and we all celebrated. (Something like that...I've forgotten the original wording.) That really got me to thinking about how much I missed my REAL family!!
since most of us here on this forum are ex jw or soon to be, most have an experience of hurt or anger at being shunned or lied to myself included.
how do you deal with it?
are you over it or do you feel your life has changed for the better or worse because of your experiences with the wts?
Truthfully I don't think I've completely dealt with it yet. I still get angry at wasting time out of my life I could've used much more wisely.
Someone told me a while ago, they don't think about their time in as a bad thing because it helped them get to the place they are now in life. And they are very content and happy. I am soooo not there yet.
I log on here most everyday, reading what others are going through and seeing new ones leaving helps quite a bit. Someday I hope to meet some of you guys in person.
i had a boat that i always wanted to name "return visits" that way whenever i was asked why i wasn't in field service on saturday i could respond, "i went out on return visits" and nobody would be the wiser.
just wondering, did anyone else come up with a good way to dodge that question?.

OMG Jayhawk - hate to steal the thread here - I just realised what your avatar is. It's that robot thing from that movie...I can't remember it right now. He dies at the end. I saw that when I was like 6 or 7 and cried and cried for days cause he died. I haven't seen it sense. What that little guy's name?
