typically ridiculous.
by RichieRich inlast saturday, me and a friend from the hall decided to go to nc state fair together.
i have been told that the state fair is not a big deal in other areas of the country, but here in these parts, it means alot to us, expecially since we live in/near the capital city.
about the friend: he's a year younger than me, and we go to the same school.

After 9 days of rain, it finally stopped! Anyone had flooding problems?
by hubert inwe are not used to this, here in the northeast.
friday evening, i checked out the cellar for any water coming in, and it was dry, so i went back on the computer.
about midnight, i decided to hit the sack, so i shut off the computer, turned around, and stepped into water !!

I am not Godless, but I watch what you do. You have no basis for your ad hominem. I have your posts all over this forum as basis for my assessment of you. Do you think your posts are examples of what true Christianity inspires in followers of Christ? If so, no wonder when you preach atheists they leave the conversation feeling glad they're atheist.

since i'm relatively healthy, don't smoke, hardly drink (2 beers a day), and if i base myself on my grandparents and parents age, i think that i should live up to anywhere between 85 and 95. which means i should have another 40 to 50 years of posting here.

did you ever go to the service group and be assigned to the different car groups.....and then....the sister that is assigned to go with you...decline and say...'i am just going by myself today and do my return vistits by myself'..... damn, i should have complained about that one!

assumption #1: luke 21:24 is referring to nebuchadnezzars dream as related in daniel 4, and that indicates a future fulfillment of daniel 4.. assumption #2: the second fulfillment of nebuchadnezzars dream relates to something entirely different than the initial fulfillment.. assumption #3: the seven times of daniel 4 means seven years.. assumption #4: the seven years dont mean seven years, they mean seven years of years, where each day of each year equals one year.. assumption #5: the seven years of years dont mean seven years of years, they mean seven years of prophetic years, where each day equals 360 days.. assumption #6: jerusalem was destroyed in 607 b.c.e.. assumption #7: we should add (7 times x 360 years of 365 (or 366) days each) 2,520 years to 607 b.c.e.
to arrive at 1914 c.e.

This past sunday's wt had a hilarious paragraph...
by Check_Your_Premises ini think it was paragraph 18 or right around there.. the gist of ithe paragraph was, "some will lose faith because our predictions failed, some of our stuff doesn't make sense, or someone treats us like crap".. the answers were just a riot.
i couldn't help but wonder if some weren't faders.. "i remember when i started in the truth, i thought, this stuff is crazy, but i just knew it was the truth because where else could i go".
"where else can we go" (i would like to point out that this is hardly a ringing endorsement).

I know the frustration you are expressing, defd. I have come to acknowledge that the people at the meetings are not so Godly. They go through the motions of Godliness. Or rather, they go through the motions of what the Governing Body tells them is Godly.
You don't hear foul language at the meetings, but that isn't because they don't use foul language. It's because they don't use foul language around other JWs.
Everyone is smiling, but it isn't because they are happy. It is because they believe JWs are "the happiest people on earth" and they are trying to prove it.
Everyone seems considerate of everyone else, but that isn't because they are considerate. It's because they believe they are supposed to be.
Once I figured out what is really going on it turned my stomach to sit amongst them. Hebrews 10:24, 25 is out of context and is not said to be "encouragement." JWs take it as a command from God. Taken in context by their own explanations of the Bible it only applies to the anointed.
Hebrews 10:19-25 19 Therefore, brothers, since we have boldness for the way of entry into the holy place by the blood of Jesus, 20 which he inaugurated for us as a new and living way through the curtain, that is, his flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us approach with true hearts in the full assurance of faith, having had our hearts sprinkled from a wicked conscience and our bodies bathed with clean water. 23 Let us hold fast the public declaration of our hope without wavering, for he is faithful that promised. 24 And let us consider one another to incite to love and fine works, 25 not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as YOU behold the day drawing near.

defd, I have done that, too. With no thought at all of whether the other person was superior or inferior to me. But then, we are both here—posting in an apostate forum. Maybe anyone who is sincere winds up in places like this.
