the letter from the hacking group anonymous asserts that there is a list of some 23,000 who are associated with jehovah's witnesses, that have been accused of abusing children.
several threads on this board also seem to say the number is in that vicinity too.
i searched around a bit but didn't really find how that number was derived.. does anyone have any insight or references to how this number 23,000 was arrived at?

What the hell. Sometimes confiding in a close friend of the opposite sex (platonic or romantic) can give you good insights in to your problem/issues that people of the same sex cannot.

How in the world would anyone think that a heterosexual man enjoying looking at a female Olympic athlete dancing is somehow perverted?
That has to be the most commonly accepted, totally vanilla, most by-the-books, "natural" thing in the world.

i was thinking about what would be the most damaging thing anonymous could do on an organizational level by hacking the society.
one poster suggested that they should send out e-mails to all the elders in their elder database pretending to be the society.
but rather than sending out anything wierd and defaming, they should go the opposite route and do what the society would never do but should.

That is the tactic that the Yes Men take.
i.e. posting an "apology" from Dow Chemical about the Bhopal chemical spill disaster and claiming they were sorry and would take care of the victims. Then the REAL Dow Chemical had to step up and say, "oh, uh that wasn't us, we are the real Dow chemical and um, we are NOT taking responsibility for our actions".
It would be a great approach.

i have to say, this is a big momentous occasion as i am not so good with the pc instructions, but it worked and i am much more happy with the new an improved, vs. the old green monster.. i just got on the treadmill and have done 45 minutes at a 6.0 pace this morning - so so very happy - back to running again.. 2 years ago i did my first 1/2 (13.1) marathon and was pleased.
getting back in shape to continue to do it again in november.. anyone wanna join me ?.

This past fall I was doing really well -doing trail races in a series here in in the southwest US. My high point was 4th place in a 25-mile trail race- "Man vs. Horse", it was rough!
I like longer runs but they take a lot out of my schedule... you need to be really organized with your time to train for the long races...
Good for you for setting this goal for yourself again. I'd totally meet for a race with you if I was on the east coast :)
There should be an apostate running club here on JWN... we could start a thread that is dedicated to reporting our running times and progress, and we could encourage each other.

I have some close friends who had a similar situation- they are still married for insurance reasons but he has a signiifcant other and she has had other relationships. They have a daughter and a really close family which is super unorthodox but more loving and caring than many a straight, typical, father-mother-kids family I have known...
i have to say, although i don't dislike him, i'm not a huge fan of jackson pollack.
i mean, i find his work boring.
