  first up, happy new year .

  hi everyone, ok i guess this is controversial, but im doing it as therapy for me - so im not bitter about the way i was raised.

  plus i want to see if i can be the op of an "epic thread"!!.

  Going out in rural territory with my friends. We'd do one or two very far-spaced doors and then start hiking around on trails and exploring creeks and stuff.

  Conventions were alright -a little stressful because you were trying to look so good for everyone and see all the right people, but several of them I really did enjoy for spiritual reasons.

  Most of the good memories were people-oriented.

  I Think My Marriage Is Over...

  i know exactly what happened... he thinks i'm going to die at the big a and wants to be with someone he can live forever with.... we have two girls, ages 3 and 1... i really thought we'd make it despite the religion, now i really don't think so... not sure what to do... .

  You said that your counselor only listens - go to another one, and then another one until you find one that clicks with YOU. This is recommended by many people, including therapists.

  Counseling is good. It helped me when I was in marriage counseling and motivated my (former) husband and I to actively do something with the relationship instead of letting it stagnate like it was.

  Documenting stuff is good too, or later you may think you are going nuts when he denies something you are positive he said/did.

  Pronouncing it RIGHT

  what rules do you follow when pronouncing foreign names/places/things?

  i was remembering that when we were studying the daniel book for the book study back in the day, someone released a pronunciation guide.

  i remember studying it closely so i could pronounce all the names right (especially on the section of daniel 11).

  Best pronounciation combo: a horrid brother in our congregation was doing the reading for the bookstudy out of the Daniel book (? or some book with prophecies regarding King Herod).

  He pronounced Herod, "Hee - rod" and pronounced Sheol, "She - hole".

  And there were sentences where they were used together, i.e. "Hee - rod went down to She - hole" or the like. Not for a laugh, he was just super out of it. It was SO. AWESOME. Couldn't stand the guy though.

  now think about this: what was lazarus condition during those four days he was dead?

  lazarus did not say anything about being in a heaven of bliss or a hell of torment, which surely he would have done if he had been there.

  hi, this thread is inspired by the "bible characters trading cards" thread.... can we come up with a great list of female bible characters that were strong, decisive and inspiring?.

  scully mentioned ja'el: drugging and driving a tent spike through the head (we all remember the awesome bible stories illustration) of the enemy general.. list yours along with a description of why they were so badass!.
