And speaking of snooping ;) where are you from in California? I grew up there- always trying to find people from my past.
(You can PM me if that's better)

Three Days At The Convention...
by Justice-One ini'm back from sitting through three days of the most mind numbing dribble you can imagine.
the worst part was looking around and watching as the good little automatons took it all in.
the only fun i had was doing my "mission.

That's pretty far out J-1!
I don't think anyone would be that interested in my computer files.
Do you have folks in your house that snoop through your stuff? Is it mainly apostate things you are protecting or do you have other top secret stuff...?
-K, feeling kinda boring by comparison... -

List your fav drinks and how to make them...
by AK - Jeff inwifey and i were basically non-drinkers whilst in the dubland fantasy.
now we drink an occasional glass of wine or pina colada.. we're not very imaginative with it.
i know some understand the fruit of the vine well [like our buddy in oz, ozzie] and others enjoy mixed drinks.. which ones - and how do you make 'em?.

Wine:
-Open bottle of red (has to be red) wine, preferable Pinot Noir
-Pour into glass
-Drink
-Repeat
Vodka and cranberry juice
-Open vodka
-Open CB juice
-mix
-drink
-Repeat
The most important part is the Repeat part. Must be practiced often.

Job well done soldier!!!
Can you post the final editions of your flyers? How many different kinds did you make.
Not to rain on your parade, but I think if any of us told the CIA we were running around playing minds games in the restrooms of some obscure cult, with the "dangerous opposition" consisting of 23-yr old janitors and window washers they'd put us away!!!!

Thanks for holding the door.... *** SMACK ***
by Elsewhere inyesterday something happened that really pissed me off.
i was walking out of a store that has two doors you have to walk through... the inner door and the outer door.
basically a small foyer.. as i'm going through the inner door i notice a woman is behind be so i go on through and hold the door for her... she went right on through without a word and then went through the outer door, pushed it open and then let it fly back into my face.

Oh my gosh elsewhere,
I was JUST thinking about that exact scenario when I woke up! (but not with you in it) And I was going to post something here about it!!!
I really enjoy it when a guy opens the door for me or offers to hold my bag while I open my cardoor etc. Are these women so insecure in their femininity and accomplishments that that act of kindness throws them totally out of balance? I hold doors open for men and women alike. Sometimes the men get a little uncomfortable at that and say "No, no, let me gettaht for YOU," but that doesn't bother me either.
I do understand that it is a throwback from a time when women weren't allowed to do a lot of things like vote, have an opinion, go to school, (or at least those things weren't encouraged- hm, remind someone of any particular group...?) and this was one more way of "taking care of" the womenfolk, but, heck, people nowadays don't think of it in those terms- they are just being respectful and courteous.
Jeez, we need more of that. -

Hidden Dangers and Accidents - UK
by Simon inhidden dangers and accidents - uk
it is not just work machinery, falls from heights or big explosions that cause injuries.
in the uk around 4,000 people die in accidents at home every year, more than the number of people killed on the roads or at work and around 2.7 million a year turn up at accident and emergency departments looking for treatment.

So was the lingere garment, "the teddy" named after Theo Roosevelt also?
(Would have been better if it was called the "J Edgar"?)

Merfi,
The book is: "The Golden Ratio: The Story of PHI, the World's Most Astonishing Number" it is by Mario Livio.
It is interesting to me but I'm not sure if younger kids would just eat it up. But it has about everything you'd want for a sci project- maybe they could make like, a dodecahedron out of pentagons.
Or they could tattoo the pentagram on their palms like the Pythagoreans!
